He is old but not as old as I thought. I really thought he was 40+.

He reminds me of this 50+ year old Somali man at my university who is the epitome of a mole. My father's age, short about 5'3-5'5, 70's glasses, and I have seen him several times in one of the undergraduate libraries or outside and he seems very unnerving and mole like. Passed by him several times but never talked to him. was just told he is a Lit major.

There is another older Somali guy at my school, one of the Somaliland guys who is also big in their region, Qaboos or something like that (also writes articles posted on Hiiraan and Wardheer) also Lit major but this guy and I have talked several times, including Somali politics. Very nice guy, always tells me he wishes there were more "aware" Somali youth like me.

He co-sponsored (along with the African studies department) a big Somali poet (don't know the qabiil) to come and speak for an event last year. I was taking an African history course and the teacher said she would give me extra credit if I can translate some of the man's poetry (which i did of course with the help of the guy).

If he was 17/18 in 1993, then he should be, on average, 32 years of age.
