The Peace Corps is a continuing American institution, founded in the early years of the Kennedy Administration. They fill requests for various sorts of assistance, usually in education, health or community development, from countries all over the world.

In the case of Somalia, we built many of the early schools, participated extensively in the Teacher Training Institute in Afgoye and taught in local towns thoroughout the country. We were asked to leave after Siyaad Barrre came to power in 1969. Mine was the sixth of seven groups that entered Somali between 1962 and 1968. The last Volunteer left Somalia 1n 1970.

I was personally very well treated and came away with a number of good friends, one of whom visited me in the States in the late summer of 1969, shortly before all contact was cut of by the Barre regime.

Just so you know, Basra knows full well that I am a Deist with a Mormon background. You don't have to be Jewish to recognize the truth of the Haulocaust or the fact that the Dome of the Rock stands on the Temple Mount, built by the Coheniim during the reign of Herod the Great. She just wants to insult someone who does not agree with her that depopulation and Gothic novels are great things. Let her have at it.
