Re: The monotonous Somali cuisine
I am fairly sure I could happily eat muufo tiinaar and beer ari straight for a week.
On the other hand, rice and boiled bones never did appeal much. I could get basto and saliid down, but if that is what Mac is talking about I don't understand the nostalgia. I much preferred miisharii (cornmeal mush) with a sauce of meat, tomatoes and onions.
What has happened to all the good konfuur food in the diaspora?

Grant,
You have to undertsand that there is a difference between Mishaari and the Soor... Mishaari is more liquid and usually it is drank from a cup...Like the oatmeal... I think the one you are talking about is the Soor...Which is really very yummy when ate with a nicely prepared sauce (suugoo)...I lkie mine with a hot very hot sauce and banana....

Kambuli,
Thank you, flower lady!
I don't think I ever heard the word "soor", but I will try to remember it. I still have a large wooden spoon I was told was for mishaari.
All of the corn dishes tasted better in Somalia.

Grant,
Ugali or soor is a wonderful dish. I used to eat one plate and that satisfied by hunger for the whole day plus it made you "regular"

Re: The monotonous Somali cuisine
Yuck.
I cannot tell you HOW disgusted i am right now .
An Old Yuhuud and an Old Majeerten love discussing a dish of soor. Then a little habar gidir hooligan concluding the praise of this fufu dish by underlining the benefit of eating it--- 'it made u regular'!
Please a Chorus of Yuck!

Sir Lug why does Abdiwahab lick after you in every of your discussions as if you are his long lost daddy?

Waryaa,
No one is licking after no one, A/Wahab is one of the few bright forumers in this joint and his contribution is always enlightening, except of course when he is bragging. Coming from the vicinity of Majerten land had a negative impact on him

Luugoyo:
Sure thing my Tuuni friend, but I suppose you would know more about Majeerten than I would considering they were resettled in vast numbers in your hood. Plus don't hate on those who provide you with SAAB food.
DawladSade:
I guess u missed your QUULE Flakes this morning. Your pathetic attempts at isku diir doesn't work. So whats the lastest in the world of the Marexan ?
