I reckon you're out to lunch on this one. Those "Somali" pics are the farthest thing from Somali's that i've ever seen. Specially those cats in the tech. Fanaax maybe, but not the soldiers. Surely you can produce better pics ?

Those are Somalis, Mike, and I was being modest. I picked random photos too from big cities, most in the North I believe.

You're lucky I didn't get photos of the RRA and further groups in the South, man do they look JIG-A-BOO!!

Maybe I'll expose the RRA one by one tomorrow.

For starters, the father clearly has dark Arab roots, probably lower caste Omani or Yemeni genes, and the two girls to his left, the younger ones, look quite mixed, but the oldest girl looks to be Somali looking along with the one directly under her.

You know, Mike, you bring me to my second point, every Somali I see in the West is more lighter and wholly typify what a Somali is "supposed" to look like, but our counterparts in Africa look like bush creatures, no matter where they're from, though the ones in the South take it to a different level. When I DID do my google search for photos, many results came up, of more light-skinned appearing Somalis, however they were Western Somalis so I skipped a few photos.

Someone once told me that hunger and war created this affect over the decades, but if you can give me a better answer, that would be appreciated. Its just really puzzling.

they look more attractive to somalis than their Dinka or Nuer brothers because they have probably been mixing with cushites for millenia,, but they are still nilotes.

but we do have one thing in common, all the cushites and nilotics originted in the nile valley,
and only came down to the ethiopian highlands and kenya after 3000BC.

Yeah, James Dahl said that Cushites, Nilotics, and Bantus all have a common ancestor a while back; which probably tells me that while Bantus left the pack and ventured all over, Cushites and Nilotics stayed closer. Its tough to see a difference in Cushites and Nilotics.
