Luq,

I used to believe Somalis were the worst until I saw what happened in Baghdad.

The Iraqis can give Somalis a run for their money in bililiqo Laughing Laughing

The problem with Somalis has been the general lack of social skills: from their politicians to the civilians. The short term mentality ruined the nation starting way back before the war.

Greed kills.

Kabul cold war, civil war, civil unrest for nearly 4 decades. Somalia hasnt faced what afghanistan has yet. Good on Kabul, rebels, extermist and the Taliban are trying to keep Afghanistan in the stone ages just as the Southerners of Somalia. But will destroy them. Cool

Abdiwahab,

Thats why I mantain that even the most oppressive Gov't in the world is better than no Gov't. Iraq under bitter sanctions from the entire world, was still in a better position yesterday under Saddam than today. Confused

Luq,

I believe in small government with a small portfolio: national security, monetary policy, legal system and foreign policy.

Ideally, the best goverment for Somalis would be a small one with a very limited portfolio instead of being a large parasitic one that squashes free enterprise with taxation and corruption.

Somalis if left along to conduct free trade in peace don't really care for who is in charge.

Corruption has been the bane of Somali governments since 1960. They developed an entitlement culture where every clan assumes that having kin in government will bring largesses to them.

LIQAAYE,

Fock No saxiib. The average Somali before the Tigrey occupation was better off than the average Zambian, Congolese, or Malawian.

Tigray occupation or not, the average quality of life in a dumpster is better than the quality of life in Somalia.

Somalis can succeed and build their country way faster than any nation, but the condition imposed upon us is that it's impossible to be left us alone to deal with our own problems.

The world knows the resilience and social skills Somalis can muster to rebuild their nation, but the huge problem is regional meddling financed by the West. Ethipia receives nearly half a Billion non-humanatarian aid a yearwhereas we have been deprived of the opportunity to develop and keep a compettive position in the Horn region. Do the math.

Somalia needs Mogadisho to settle down completely and the rest of the country will follow suit. This ancient port is the nexus of our adhesion and stability.

Liqaaye,

Oh, okay. Somalis are in deep shiid.

Now, the way forward is to get along and promise to do no harm to each other.

Let us shake hands and promise to never have any HJ vs. HG conflict from now on.

Somali2003, your absolutely right. Stability in Xamar is crucial if there ever is to be a viable state in Somalia. Thats why I was pro ICU until they started their land expansion, and played right into the hands of uncle sam and his sattelitte Ethiopia, therefore throwing things into wack. The problem is Xamar, and I don't know how it could ever be pacified.
