I knew sheik bashir the former imam of that masjid for more than 8 years and wallahi i havent met anyone more knowledgeable than him in islam in north America.. Everyone here loves the sheik and they would take his side anyday but he has advised the people not to create fitnah.. Actually this stuff is very common in Somali run Masjids all over North America. What happends first is an idealogical clash usually in the form of manhaj, and then when the fitnah becomes great the Jamacah which is mostly comprised of the donut shop simpletons that make it for Isha after a full day of Fadhi ku dirir break up along qabil lines and the community gets split up. I know a city thats divided on Darood on one Masjid and Issaq/Hawiye at the other.
