Because of Shariica, Salahudin al-Ayubi was able to become the leader of the Ummah, and Kurds as well as other ethnicities prospered. Today, the Kurds as well as other ethnicities are suffering because of secularism.

Believes "viciously". hummmmmmnnnnn.....

I did not know one became vicious by applying the same definition to all groups equally.

What do you know about the Omani Sultanate and their activities in East Africa?

What are you trying to imply? And just to give you a head start, when you are using Somalia as an example say SOMALIA, do not talk about a specific region in Africa. Because we only have CONNECTION to Somalia, (including, Ogadeen and our other regions).

The Omani Sultanate represents a specific geographic area and group of people which did operate in areas now claimed by SOMALIA. Those with an historical background know what I am talking about.

Once again, WHAT DO KNOW ABOUT THE OMANI SULTANATE ?

As an apparently necessary second question, did Islam ever operate outside SOMALIA?

Grant, that's an incomprehensible question; you might want to rephrase it.

Arabman,

It's not incomprehensible at all. Alluring was trying to limit the issue to Somalia.

Since the subject was Islam and Colonialism, if Islam existed outside Somalia, that part of Islam that existed outside Somalia should also be included in the answer to the question. Don't you think?

Grant, the term "operate" renders your question incomprehensible.

"Operate" works for me, in the same sense that the Omani Sultanate "operated" along the East African coast. You can change it to "exist" is you like.

What's wrong Alluring? If you don't know, a little research is permitted. I will not offend you with any copy and paste

What do you know about the Omani Sultanate ? You may concentrate on the period 1650-1850. How do their activities differ from those of other colonial powers of the same period?

Where were the Omani colonies? What did they raise on their plantations? What goods and resources did they extract and trade?
