The UIC were not composed of my tribe, they were mainly ceyr, Ogaden, abgaal, merehan, dubduble, murusade etc and i am sacad.

When it just comes down to basic clan politics i must say that HG's a the royalty of Hawiya and and sacad's hold the crown amongst HG itself.

Basically as a sacad i am superior to a dameer abgaal within somali soceity, dameer abgaal are always the ones that embrass us hawiya, first of all the rest of the somalis nicknamed us Hutu hawiya beacuse of the savage behaviour of abgaals against innocent merehan familys back in the days, i just wana say off the record that HG were the ones that were extremely against killing merehan's women and children it was the Hutu abgaals that were to blame.

It was a clever ploy by the AntiUSC Block lead by Ali Mahdi.

The Mahdi Faction consisted of 13 parties (mainly smaller minor groups who set up separate parties: the Darood excluding the Ogaden alone had 10 parties) versus the SNA (USC, SPM, and SDM).

The Mahdi Faction presented the argument that the 13 parties were on board to move their agenda while only Aideed's block which was under 1 unified block, the Somali National Alliance was not willing.

So based on a show of hands, Mahdi looked as if he had a more larger block even though the Mahdi block controlled less territory and had less influence than the SNA which effectively controlled all of South Mogadishu, Kismayo, and Baidoa.

There was also a strong propaganda war launched by the antiSNA opponents who like the Iraqi National Congress became advisors for the US Administration's policies towards Somalia. The Clinton administration was consulting with the very opponents of General Caydiid: former members of the Barre dictatoship, Boutros Ghali, a close friend of Barre to name a few.

Being naive and not getting input from the SNA block, Clinton adopted an antagonistic policy against Caydiid early on. This would build over time until it came to head in the false accusation that General Caydiid had massacred 25 Pakistani troops. General Caydiid was later on exonerated by UN Commission which looked into the incident that determined the clash was not ordered by him.

I know a lot about HG largely by accident. I was trying to research the Ajuran Empire, and part of that was understanding the Hiraab Imamate. I still don't know nearly as much as I'd like about either entity.

Several things I still don't know:
Who were the imams of the Hiraab, and why did they rebel? Something about taxes?
Who were the imams/sultans of the Ajuran and what was their relationship with the Muzaffars of Mogadishu?
Did the Harti or Sade have anything to do with it? I know the Marehan were involved in Adal mostly, but they would have been neighbors.
What relationship did the Ogaden have with the Ajuran?

The Ajuran rose to power sometime in the mid 1400s and their empire collapsed sometime between 1550 and 1650.
