A/Wahab,

Whats with the low standards? So the whole point of the fight was to remove Siyad and live like animals for almost 20 years? Why couldn't you get the kursi? What a waste of manpower and effort down

Somalistan,

Do you know anything about the war in the South? Laughing

Caydiid was bi-polar/paranoid which prevented him from trusting anybody.....it was a matter of time before he would fight some people due to paranoia.

Ask the Abgaal, Murusade, even Raxanweyns.....he didn't keep his promises.
Obviously never happened since Mareexaan broke the back of USC everywhere from Gaalkacyo to Kismaayo.

Hawiye vs. Mareexaan

Clan vs. Sub-clan

And we all see the outcome today. Laughing
If they really broke the back (winning battles, but not the war)of USC,then we would have today another marehan(hateful towards islam) as leader. One worse than the latter.

ps the battles were not clan vs subclan. It was HG vs MX

Screw must stop these silly topics, which overlook the terrible consequences of the war.

That contreversial era of 90s can only be discussed by coolheaded guys, who can look at the events with a clear mind and heart.

Since this is not the case in Somnet, I advise to stop posting Civil war related topics.

And lets all think for one minute about the suffering of thousands of Somalis, since we were lucky enough to escape from this suffering.

Somaliweyn,

I have a relative who is bi-polar....sometimes they get paranoid, crazy excessive energy, sometimes happy sometimes depressed, also brilliant and very convincing.

Waa Caydiid oo meesha taagan....but I still wouldn't trust that relative w/ anybody's affairs.

That's not an insult against him....

GB,

I do not know the character of Aideed. So I think you should ask AW if your relative resembles him.

As for the civil war-related topics: I am out....its becoming immoral to discuss lighty the military aspect of the civil war while overlooking the human suffering.

I agree. But you're not going to get AW252 to admit that.

Talk to other people, Muduolood or otherwise.

SomaliNet captures the problems with Somalis which I can sum up in a paragraph:

"The civil war started for Somalis at different times. Each group does not recognize the suffering of the other and sees themselves as victims. Without the acknowledgment of each other's suffering, you can not have forgiveness and peace."

Horta I need this question Answered and this for Hamar Residents. I have heard that almost all Hawiya ganged up on Abgaal and really devastated them, than how the hell are they still dominant in the city and how did they survive. Confused and today i heard almost 80,000 folkz fled the city this past three months and couple of months ago they said 400,000 fled, how the fack is that possible, its like the City of Atlanta proper has all disappeared overnight. Shocked And for those of yall had homes in Hodan, Holwdag and some other district am not sure of are very unlucky, i guess its bye bye for ur homes and why are those districts being shelled and do those district have a beach cause if the ethopians loose and get trapped am thinking thats their only way out. Laughing
Voltage:

If breaking the back means, being pursued into Qaxootinimo along with Jalle Siyaad Laughing

The war was over and mission accomplished once Siyaad was living in qaxootinimo.
This simpleton would never have addressed DawladSade with such childish input, let's thank Voltage.

Abdihutu, if the USC mission was fulfilled, "overthrowing" Siad would be the last thing you try to boast about, but as they say "if you cannot get the gold, settle for the silver".

Siad Barre's administration dissolved when the national army broke up into clan lines. He left Mogadishu because his regime had no national army, and the land was not his clan land that he could seek safety. The objective of USC was to take over the country and Caydiid to install himself president.

Siad Barre had long left Gedo due to inter-Mareexaan policy formation before the USC attacked.

THe USC attacked Gedo, Kismaayo, Gaalkacyo, and tried to attack Western Galgaduud with the aim of vanquishing Darood and taking over the government.

The USC was on the offensive and Darood was on the defense.

In each of those, the SNF taught a lesson I need not remind you off and successfully completed their objectives which was to halt and retrace the USC march.

In the end, Caydiid could do nothing but go back to south Mogadishu where he died a begger in a hut shot by his own closest Sacad kins of all people who deemed him a liability.

I laugh at the "Caydiid" you keep speaking off nowadays Abdihutu. This is not "Chinesenet", this is "Somalinet".

Dawlad, no lie; If I was Hawiye, I'd be asking myself what was the friggin point. I'd rather have a Gov thats hostile to my clan then no Gov Wallahi.
