1. SNM were a rebel group.

2. SNM were opposed to Barre's government.


How does point # 1 and point # 2 justify bombing Northern Cities, killing thousands of civilians and causing hundreds of thousands to flee ?

If Barre was not brutal, the average person wouldn't have joined the SNM, USC, SDM, or SPM.

His brutality against unarmed civilians caused them to join the rebels.

Abdi do not come here with you propaganda, innocent people did die and that was because of both sides not just one, remember the Somali government did not just go to hargiesa for fun and started shooting. It was because the snm rebels went to ethiopia got weapons and attacked the city, shooting from buildings and those shots were returned, however, the governments shot were a reaction to an action. If the rebels did not fight their government and people because of narcotics then none of this would have happened. The government targeted rebels and it was never the aim of the government to kill civilians. I SUPPORT THE ACTIONS OF THE GOVERNMENT AND I BELIEVE WHAT THEY DID TO DESTROY THE REBELS WAS THE RIGHT THING. One must defend the country at all costs.
