peace card was not that important to somalilands foriegn policy in the first place, the people wanted peace, we didnt make peace to look good to the world.

anyway the world has proven that they do not give a rats ass about
a self sufficient, peacefull democratic state in africa,

somaliland should do whats in its interests.

gurey25 acctually peace-card is very important for your recognion, only think we use to hear from somalilands leadership for last 16 years was( look we have peace and savage people of south are killing eachother, we are better than people of xamar becouse they r killing eachother.)

but when UIC come to power in south somalia and south and mogadishu become more peacefull than hargeysa,riyaales goverment of somaliland started another card which was alqaida card. look southern somalis are alqaida muslims they are terrorist, and even somaliland foreign minister said once:- we somaliland we are secular and will have western based charter who has nothing do islam therefore we deserve to be recogniced bye international community.

after ethiopian invided south and once again and south become meel dagaal ka socdo. somaliland restarted their peace-card to get recognition.

ICU was never a threat to somaliland,

we face no millitary threats at all.

the Peace card was and is of no political use,
Somaliland would have benefited more and attracted more attebtion if we were more aggressive with our policy on somalia.


When we sat back and used the peace card, the EU and US and others that are sympathetic to Somaliland, wrongly assumed that we would not rock the boat and that we can be coaxed back into some sort of union.

This is the main reason for the lack of action on recognition,
on one side we have virulent enemies, the Arab league led by egypt adamantley against recognition, and on the other side we have our friends and
allies believeing that we are not really that serious about independance and that somehow we can be bribed back into a union once the mess in the south is fixed.

It seems to me that the world community would rather deal with a chaotic , uncapable of governing themselves , always begging entity in Xamar than a self made people like we are , Why? Because it upsets " the orderly business" they're used to . You see we are suppose to be BEGGERS { not for recognition but for $$} like CY and his hutu constituency

As Cali Warancadde said. Somaliland needs to adopt 'iska wax uqabso' system. Where they give no flying pig about the world community. Remember somaliland aint no gaint state, it's small country that fits its populace. Without finances from abroad, WE CAN build our country. We can build hospitals, schools, roads, and the vast infestructure. There are other non political parities out there, that can help somaliland do these things, but over all we need to be 'iska wax uqabso' kinda of people.

It seems too much effort is being put on recogntion, when all we have to do is build our country=attraction from the international community and that would be vaible for them to get the messege and not neccasarily running around.

We need to better the livelyhoods of our own communities, cities, schools, security, justice etc...and the rest will take care itself.

We need to work from within....
