There's nothing wrong wit a Hijab fashion show....How else do you get out the latest Islamic fashion trends? A fashion show.....So long as they're covered which they are they're shouldn't be anything wrong with it.

I agree with Biko...They should've justd dressed up some dolls or mannequins with the product they're selling, set them on a rolling platform and wheel them in and out. That way, nobody will get any ideas!

the Hijab is an Iskamic requirement and never fashion.

They are swaying their hips too seductively.

It's definitely an improvement, but why are they walking like that?

biko,

Read my post, I had a problem with how they were swaying their hips b/c it appears to provocative.
However, it is an improvement in the sense that they are not half naked.

It's in women's nature to be interested in fashion, adornments, beautification etc. We can't take that away from them. The only thing we can do is to try to Islamify it.

If there was a fashion show for only women, let them move their hips & shake their tailfeathers all they want.

whos's denying it? the premise of this topic is to acknowledge and proliferate the use of hijab in a positive lite for women...don't make me out to look as if i'm in adverse of its use..

and u say...never fashion?? so with all the styles and fabric textures it comes in..its not a fashionable garment? its a way of dressing.....u cannot disengage it from its fashion sense. and the disparity of styles throughout the muslim world attests to that my dear. there are so many ways of wearing and we need fashion shows to put it on display. but i do agree with u to a certain point.. its definitely not for your eyes. so stop looking it at huuno. lol.

Gedo,

my my..aren't u an expert on women's nature today. LOL

zulaika,

LOOOL. Am I wrong? Can we separate you from your fashions?
I know that much. Women love fashion and to take it away from them is not practical nor is it Islamic:
Sura Araf takes about the ziina (the beautiful, clean adornments & clothes)

aya 31 & 32.

nothing wrong with a fashion show for the sisters.
Just save the seductive hipswaying for the husbands :-)

The Holy Prophet [s] said: "Verily your best woman is she who is fertile, affectionate,
keeps secrets, and is pious. She obeys her husband and is honourably dear among her kinsmen.
When she is with her husband, she reveals her ornaments but conceals it from anyone other
than him. She hearkens to his speech and obeys his commands. When she is in private, she
dresses herself beautifully and is eager to offer him generously whatever he wants from her.
She is usually ornamented (for him) and is not plain as men are."

whats with the contradiction?

if there aint nothing wrong with fashion show there aint nothing wrong with swaying hip.

Ps...in this case one is directly related to the other.

biko,

A fashion show doesn't mean they have to walk so sexy like that esp. if it's being filmed for the public.

If they can just tone down the ultra sexy walking it would be OK. They are fully clothed.
