I don't get it why mourn Heath Ledger? If he wasn't an actor and an ordinary working class person, would you care that much?
I think society glorifies celebrities a lil too much. There are people that die everyday from tragic and more horrific circumstances and their get 5 mins of primetime news but people like Heath Ledger gets unprecendented media coverage.
Very sad world we live in.
BUt we don't know everyone in the world or how they died. We got to see Heath grow from a scruffy teen to a well rounded young actor. Only god knows what more he could have done if he lived a long life.

That's kind of the point, he was a public figure and, even though we didn't "KNOW HIM, know him", we grew to love/admire him through watching his movies. There's a sense of familiarity there, so you can't compare Heath Ledger to some random, more tragic, death in say Bangalore, India. We care because we felt like we knew him. Why is that so hard to understand?

That's exactly my point. You don't know his personal life just like any other person either yet you are so concerned that he died because he is a hollywood actor. If he was a regular person, he'd get his 5 mins that's it.
As a society we glorify celebrities too much.

Ummm no. Of course we don't "know him" But he had a great gift to offer the world. Plus most people are concerned when they hear about the death of any young person.
Had Heath died at 82 we all would have been sad but thats about it. He was 28 so why not be concerned?

*jr honestly i'm pretty sure it says something like, just not as bald. lol
Razz, there is nothing sad about his death, everyone dies. The only thing sad about it is that he is being compared to a flaming homo, drug addict who died back in 54 named James Dean. Now this is robbing Ledger of his work.

Well, I'm not crying or losing sleep, I greatly admired Heath Ledger and regarded him as a wonderful actor and feel very sad at such a waste of a young life.Laakiin,GB,you need to get a fuccking life of your own and a new person to lust after.

what about everyday folk that got gifts to offer the world too? Do you mourn for them the same way? I'm willing to bet no. This is blown out of proportion and is absurd. Like I said there are gifted young men and women who has alot to offer but died through tragic circumstances and they get 5 mins of media coverage.
"Had Heath died at 82 we all would have been sad but thats about it. He was 28 so why not be concerned?"
No it would be the same outcome. they would talked about his acting legacy and his movies like they're ddoing now. Don't give me that.

Excluding his movies, exactly what do you know about Heath Ledger? What do you know and admire about him? I'm willing to bet you know jack about his personal life and the things he did while he was still alive?
All you know is his public profile and that is because he is a hollywood actor.

Ive heard of James Dean all my life but I never got around to viewing one of his films.
If Heath had lived I think We could have compared him to Brando.

Hello in there. I don't know everyone and Ive never heard of everyone. How could I mourn them? Why are you so bent out of shape about this anyways?

Razz
Everyone compared him to Brando after Brokeback. I don't know why cause I won't watch that. But Dean only had a 4 or 5 yr career and about 4 movies all together. The dude was a waste kinda like britney, alcoholic, drugy and a homo. They only comparison would be that they both died young.
