How many different kind of nikkah's are there. All the ones I've been to have been the same. Guy talks about how marriage is important marriage is, read some Quran and dua's groom repeats some stuff after the sheik, and then we eat. Whats the other kinda nikkah.

In Somalia, people used to do something called "khudbo siro" i.e. "Secret marriage"...the man and woman secretly do the nikaax without the knowledge or consent of the girl's father, this is illegal nikaax. Another type was running off together to another city and getting married with the knowledge of the girl's father, but without his consent, again illegal nikaax. People think they can cheat the religion.

Koronto, if the father refuses his daughter hand in marriage to a good muslim guy for no reason other then prejudice or what not then they can be married without the fathers consent.

I trust those kind of NIkaax are not encouraged and they are not Xalaal simply because it is for the welfare of the girl's reputation and the baby..
