Re: Child Birth
Cali_Gaab,
What's the point of having kids, if you don't plan on being there for them from day 1? Yes, insha Allah, I plan on being with my wife during her delivery, because thats what a real man does. What's with the other question? Who would be concerned about farting at a time like that? Labor is a very painful experience and any woman who dies giving birth attains the status of a martyr according to the Prophet (saw).
Just because our fathers did it differently doesn't mean we blindly follow them, if a non-believer is there with his wife during such an ordeal, then why can't you, who is a believer in Allah? Wallahi, sometimes I think Kaffirs are better fathers than us; go to any park and you'll find white fathers hanging out with their kids. Go to any park in a Somali area; you'll only see poor Somali mothers dragging 4 or 5 over-hyped Somali kids. Disgraceful!

Re: Child Birth
I went though blood sweat and tears to come up with a topic that isn't qabiil related, somali politics or something which could be yet another-topic-turned marexaan and you guys waist a whole page on farting, ilaahay ma dadkan ayuu abuuray?
Helwaa, i know very well that you need to be there for the child after birth including the wife and she needs you most during her last stages of pregnancy, however my point is what can a man do when his wife is giving labour and he's present?
The pain wont really ease for her and its hard to see her in a position full of pain and misery and the only thing you can do is stand there and watch.
Koronto, this has got nothing to do with religion adna waxaad ka hadlaysa qofka diinto leh ama qofka diinta ka maqan.
Yes, i do know that you need to be there for the child sinds day one, doesn;t that include a couple minutes after birth, surely this isnt going to affect your fatherhood.
It's true with your observation regarding fathers playin with their kids in parks etc and soomalida you rarely see such a thing compared to the white man.
This is because those men do not realise the meaning of fatherhood but this doesnt affect you being present during child birth and is another topic.
And that farting question is just a fact, which woman on this forum wouldnt be bothered doing this continuesly when your husband is watching on, never mind the nurses you'll never see again.

Re: Child Birth
why do men have to be there? I'll wait till she gives birth and then come back in. It's not some sort of team sport, it's child birth.
That first man who went into the delivery room set a bad precedent for the rest of us, fock him.

La xowla wa laa quwata, no wonder there are somali athiests out there.
They see so called muslims such as you and wonder "if there's a god, let alone Allah, why does he make his own people so dumb"
Maxaa ku haya nayaa, qabiil iyo naag la qabo oo baby ka soo dhacayo, miiska saaran oo lugaha ka la qabatay iyo my wifes qabiil maxaa sheekadan keenay.

Horta, who told you this is what every woman who is giving birth does?lol I really doubt a woman who is in extreme pain would care about farting, besides what's wrong with it if she farts? Its a natural occurance, from what I know.
As for the other question, personally I'd wanna be there to give support to my wife and be there for my kid. I don't think there's any woman who's giving birth that would prefer to be alone with a bunch of strangers (Gaalo) and not a single person she knows. What if she's about to suddenly die? She would need a familiar face near her, so that she can say her final wishes or someone to remind her to say the Shahada.
