The coup was made by variouse top police men and millitary top brass, Maxamed Afweyne was only one.

Maxamed Afweyne's main task which he choose for himself during the coup was to guard Cigaal during that night and make sure Cigaal saw him running around bringing him milk to sleep , less the coup foiles , then Afweyne would have said " Cigaal darling how could i be with these men , don't you remember i brought you camel milk around 3:00am".

Salaad, Caynaashe and Maxamed Abshir were the brain behind the coup and even young Caydiid and C.Yuusuf were given the task of taking over the radio and declaring the coup.

Pepole welcomed the coup , people were sick and tired of the Qaad room dealing between Sharmaarke and Cigaal and the well fed corrupt fat cats. The Majeerteen thought they had somalia locked and Cigaal even married a bald Majeerteen woman for few days the man was a political opportunist with no back bone.

The best thing about the coup was many of the old fat cats were made to pay for their corruption , perhaps the only time somalis took revenege on the blood sucking politicians.

Now later when Afweyne all alone inherited the fruits of the coup he brought his 12 nabby head childern and mother pig Khadiijka and all his Mareexaan enrolled them into the free somali state welfare, then we were back to square one, and the rest of the story is well known.

Focking IIdors and their bullshjjt. Guulwade Siyad was the most powerful man in the history of Africa. The only man where somalis from Borame all the way to Ras Kamboni were singing his name, noolow Siyad noolow. Warer focking fishead, Guulwade Siyad was the highest general in Somalia.

Noolow Siyad noolow, Noolow Geesiga Afrika Noolow. IIdor poem Haji Adan Ahmed Afqalloc:

Saddex buu ka yahay qaadaddii aradka Soomaale
Surwaalkii ma dhigin iyo dharkii sawjarnimadiiye
Sar intuu abuurtay uma bixin soohdin laydh badane
Socdaal uguma kicin Yurub intuu saydhey maal badane
Suhuun kuma leh baanka iyo shirkado soorta iibsade e
Sokeeyaan lahaa iyo ma odhan seeddiyay xiga e
Saqda dhexe intuu liida tegey looma sacabbeyne
Sidii uu dad kale yeeli jiray wuu ka saahidaye
Soo jeed habeen iyo feker baa solay naftiisiiye
Sabab iyo taqadum lagu gaadho buu ku hurdo seegaaye
Sidaasay dadweynuhuna kalsoonida dhab ugu siiyeene
Saciim buu Afriiqiya u yahay saadiq aaminahe
Sida qamarka oogada socda bay sare u eegaane
Sawdkuu la yeedhiyo codkaa loo sid tiriyaaye
Seeftii nasriga iyo wuxu sitaa suuratul ikhlaase
Sagal hooray buu noo yahay iyo seermaweydada e
Sidii lagu tilmaamaba runtii uga sinaad roone
Sidaasay dadweynuhuna kalsoonida dhab ugu siiyeene

Translation:

He is the supreme leader of the Somalis
He continues to wear his battle dress
He does not build breezy mansions for himself
Doesnt go gallivanting to Europe and luxurious locales
Doesnt own wealth in Banks and Big Corporations
He doesnt practice nepotism nor promote his in-laws
Doesnt go debauching at the beachside bars late at night
His is not the way of his corrupt and depraved predecessors
A Wakeful Vigil and Worry has exhausted and depleted him
For the Cause of Somali progress he loses sleep
And that is the reason he retains the confidence of his people

Most Magisterial of all African, He is a generous and trusted leader
All Africa looks up to him like the moon in the night-sky
As they hold fast to his every word and pronouncement
He wields an evenging sword and Allah's Words.

To us, he is like a cooling breeze and Refreshing rains
Words fail to describe the glory of our leader
And that is the reason he retains the confidence of his people

So at the time of the 1969 coup, Mohamed Said Barre was the commander of SNA? presumably he must then be the leader of the coup and the rest working for him?

The people behind the coup was Major General Guulwade Siyad Bare and Brigadir General Ali Matan Hashi.

The jealous hutu Lord Aidyd said this

"Lieutenant Colonel Ali Malan Hasii and two other officers of Siad Barre's own Marehan tribe.

Besides this, he chose three intellectuals of his tribe, who were secretly working for him in evolving the political system and the future policy."
