I hate to be the one bursting the Hutu bubble, but let's look at it from this perspective.
Ok, fast forward, after 18 fukken years, what do you have to show for it after deposing the Siad regime?
Alchemist,
It was a critical mistake that occurred after the USC forces beat back the Barre regime who advanced to Afgoye and captured Burdhube.
The USC High Command assumed that MSB was going to exit via Beled Xawo into Mandera and a USC force was dispatched to pursue the fleeing Barre loyalists who had crossed into Mandera, Kenya and held the Kenyan town for 24 hours before retreating.
Unfortunately, MSB fled Gedo via the El Waq border not Mandera. After crossing into Kenya, he was evacuated by President Moi who dispatched a helicopter to fly him to Nairobi where he stayed for a few more weeks before President Moi asking him to flee. President Moi had dispatched a lot of military hardware and trucks to MSB in his attempt to seize Xamar expecting his friend to succeed. However after the capture of Mandera by the USC embarassed him and pressure from the Opposition for MSB to leave, made Moi tell MSB to find a new home.
It was pure luck he got away that day. It was like one of those mistakes such as when Hitler assumed the Allies were going to land at Calais instead of Normandy during WW2.
Heidi,
I think it is best for all qabiils to marry with in their own people. As for the Half breeds, they are more loyal and more conservative than the full breeds.
Did he just wrote USC held Mandera 24 hours? Waryaa ciyaalkaan Walfare kunaax ah beenta kadaa. I was there and it was less then 2 hours. I was still in baladxawo and later went to khadiijo xaji. It was more like drive through. Abdi I bet mamada baa dhabarka kugu siday markaas. You may want to go back who ever told that crab to correct.

S-D-M,
You guys should have fought for MSB instead of fleeing like little girls a whole week before MSB fled Villa Somalia instead of running being obsessed with Bililiqo of Xamar.
Poor MSB thought he had an army to fight the USC in Jan. 1991 but his greedy tool vanished before he left.

HutuKing,
One of the missed opportunities in 1991 was the have tried and held all of the Afweyne regime members regardless of qabiil. The plan was to detain them, try them and punish them severely for their crimes.
Unfortunately, the Siyaadists made a come back which delayed the plan.

Fleeing little girls is funy line, but at that time USC was united Somalia except few daroods and MR were Disfranchise. Everyone though USC will restore peace after MSB leave, but the opposite happened.
But when we (MR) unite the result can be told by your elders. Read my Location

SDM,
There was a golden moment for MR to have stood up and defend MSB. They disappointed him and it was a great failing.
Instead of misleading MSB, you should have told him the truth that you were in no capacity to hold the city & for him to seek exile.

S-D)-M,
True.
The biggest mistakes of our leaders is that only a few give up & walk away from things. I believe Aden Abdulle Osman was one of the greatest Somalis of all time for his decision to walk away from the Presidency when he lost the election.

A/Wahab,
The only way MR's as clan would have stayed in Xamar was if MSB AUN authorized the use of tanks and other heavy weaponry. He refused and MR's started trickling out of the city as We knew it would be Mareexaan Vs Muslim. MSB wanted to leave and retake the city instead of destroying it and this shows the difference between the way Daroods and Hawiye fight (Circa today). Hawiye fight behind houses cutting and running. Xamar was kept 100% intact. As for the USC I heat Somalia's obsession with defunct orginizations. The politcal jabhado were 20 years ago and today Hawiye are occupied and have AY with his whip over them. Notice How I said Hawiye are occupied not Somalia because that died with the last regime.

''Mareexaan Vs Muslim.''
Mareexaan gaal miyaa? Maxaa waaye Mareexaan iyo Muslimkaan aad sheegeysid lol.
---
Anyways, dont come with that crap he didnt wanted to fight in the city, because we all know he used BM rockets and other artillery to shell sections of the city, notably Stadium Mogadishu/Towfiiq area.
There was no chance he could have stayed on even if he used tanks/heavy weaponry etc, because we all know who the majority of the city was.

AW,
One question: Was you that day (26 Jan 1991) in Mogadishu?

Murax,
MSB had offers of asylum and could have left the city without putting up a fight. He did shell sections of the city along with sending his Red Berets to start house to house searches of all Hawiye civilians on his target list.
The USC did not plan to enter Xamar but instead encircle it & lay it to siege. The shelling of Xamar and the house to house killings by the Red Beret drew the USC into the town.
So don't make MSB into a Saint who did not want to destroy Somalia. If he was a great man, he would have boarded the plane to Rome and sought asylum. Mengistu did the same thing and left Addis Ababa in tact & life went on.
