A Somali mother raises her child 100% Somali, teaching the child af-Soomaali, Somali culture, traditions, customs, respect for the elderly etc. A non-Somali mother teaches her child non-Somali language, non-Somali culture, traditions, customs etc. A child spends most of the time virtually with his mother. A child isn't only the product of genetics, he/she is also the product of how he/she was raised. What's more, in other societies, a child's mother determines who he/she is or identified with. For example, it's a child's Jewish mother that determines Jewishness.
