what do i think?

I think i won a 1000Dirham bet.

I bet my father that Riyale will delay the election a couple of months, till possible december 2008.

I then bet him that riyale will find an excuse to get another year delay..

My father still believes that Riyale and Udub can be defeated at the ballot box..

Gurey : Long time vission

Brother, do not lose sight of the real issue, we are here to analyse and intellectually discuss about the scary times in Hargeysa - this thread has nothing to do with Mogadishu or Boorame. Guray may be you are not well informed of the situation, take a look on http://www.somaliland.org

Stay with the topic Brothers and Sisters!

Riyale should leave the office with some dignity, only time will tell.

Fagashkiller

I think UDUB will be the downfall of Somaliland unless it is dealt with soon, no one person or party should have that much power in a country.

Samtr this problem should have been forseen.

The Problem does not come from Riyaale, its from the current constituion we have.
It comes from Egaal allahuyarxamahu.

We need a working democracy , too keep a lid on things.
If people see that there is no democratic process at all, everyone will go his own way,
Somaliland is not a centralized state, it will become another somalia.

these elections are a side show..
it does not matter who wins these election.(Udub is gaurenteed to win)
what matters is that we fix the constitution..becuase there will not be any more election or a Somaliland if we dont.

In the next couple of years the opposition parties Kulmiye and Ucid should only be concerned
with constitutional reform.

The guurti power should be reduced, it should be the lower house and the parlaiment should be the main house.

Khaalid
What kind of government can not protect its borders, waqooyi galbeed ka sakow Somaliland shilling la ma isticmaalo. Every problem with the current government is blamed on UDUB because they are the leaders today, so you have to take the criticism if you are an UDUB supporter because you party claims to be doing good in Somaliland.

Guray

I agree the Gurti's power should be removed, we only need them when clan scuffles arise. The constitution needs to be reformed so that there is equal powersharing, and the borders are another issue.

Riyaale doesn't operate on his own
1/ Calling him " faqash"-kii reer Boorama ..blablabla.. will not isolate him .
2/ Kulmiye is NOT a viable opposition party. Iyaagoona " startegy" gaar ah u hayn waddanka , ayaaban ku nacay waxay ku hadlaan .Shuqul maangaab bay la dhex socdan ummadda, weligood na wax noqon maayan , iga qora intaas aniga

Reer barigii baa Silaanyo dhulka la dhacay , oday xun ma ahee , wax madaxa ku wada socda ayuu xisbigiisa isugu keenay.

sahaangalbeed.

stop hating on Kulmiye.

its as viable as Udub, maybe more.

but the question people should be asking themselves is.

Is a Kulmiye government going to be better than Udub?

I say no..

they are both the same..

assalamu a'leykum,

this question shouldnt even be asked akhi, any person who believes in the kalimah will want shari'ah. As for secular democracy and these other ideologies of the kufaar then they will all fade away just as communism peaked then waned in influence. And the truth of Islaam will prevail, and the victory of Allah is near.
