I agree with you to a certain extent.. but...

The western view of beauty is "exotic"(ugly, or adoon looking or plain somali girl) ..that is why Alex Wek the southern sudanese woman is a supermodel earning millions..who are we to deny these average looking somali girls their living and dreams?it is pure xaasidnimo to condemn them their personal aspirations and living..
I personally know I am better looking then them in the western image of beauty or somali way so I don't hate on them because waan kaa qurux badan ahay or I am more educated then them.. to each his own!

Why do I get the feeling that if Fatima was aspiring to be anything other than a model most posters here would be proclaiming her one of the most beautiful somali women out there.

Please post a pic of what somalis consider a very beautiful somali women. If Fatima is not considered attractive by somalis than what do you considered beautiful.

i find Fatima really beautiful, but she comes off as a bit trashy and egotistical, she has her nose up in the air all the time and thinks she is Gods Gift to the Fashion industry like give me a break Also I don't agree with this whole Adoon term as being used to describe as not good looking, anyone who bases their opinion on about a person solely on her(or his) skin color or race is screwed up in the head. Todays standards of beauty have changed not everyone is still into that whole Girl next door look thats why models like alex wek are so succesful, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" it really comes down to preference and what the person, who is doing the looking, actually thinks.

Is aaliyah the typical african woman in the european sub concsious like the typical black african woman?? .. or she like beyonce and conform to the western ideal of caucasian features coupled with light skin .. the only black women they consider beautiful..

Unfortunatley most somalis consider beautiful the western ideal... this is the pervasive idea of beauty in the world...light skin and caucasian like features this in not unique to only somalis..

i stopped watching the show after a few episodes, my younger sister is an ardent fan of antm she makes sure she never misses it but Fatima has no class whatsoever, she has picked a few fights with some of the girls on the show, and there was this one episode in which i seen her go out partying with a couple of girls from the show, they were wearing micro minis and dancing on top of seats, drinking etc... such third class behaviour.

You said you are from London right? I really don't know what the African/blacks look like there but in America Aaliyah while being very pretty does not have an unusual look for an African American. Also we(black americans) would call her medium brown instead of light skinned.

BTW Beyonce is so fake she doesn't look like any person at all. she wears 20 pounds of hair weave,15 pounds of make up, 3 foot long eye lashes, and clothes that do not fit her figure at all. Look at some pics from her younger years. She looked like any other little big bootied black girl from H Town.

Fatima has grown on me. At first, I found her to be somewhat ugly, but now, not so much. She just has an awkward face.

Still, I'm rooting for her. I had a problem with her using the FGM card so much, but I haven't heard her mention it in a while, so she has my support.

But let's be realistic here; Anya is going to win. There's no way anyone could beat her. She has won the most competitions and is continuously taking great pictures. But, then again, this is ANTM, so..
