Re: Muslims Against Sharia
If you import xaran substance such as pork or alcohol in Somalia you might risk losing your life, Somalis practice what the homeless group in Asmara seems to preach by mouth. Before this Al-shabaab group even surfaced people that had blood on their hands were dealt with according to the teaching of our religion, I have heard of this myself since it was widely forced in Puntland. My point is Sharia Law is already in affect in Somalia and if those that seem to be preaching it now want to contribute, then lets do it in a fashionable way without calling for peoples heads. I doubt this is too much to ask.QansaGabeyle wrote:You are not even a Muslim if you are against the sharica laws.

WowThe following verses promote divisiveness and religious hatred, bigotry and discrimination. They must be either removed from the Koran or declared outdated and invalid, and marked as such.

Re: Muslims Against Sharia
Most everyone (except you and a few others) knows Saudi Arabia's is a secular monarchy. Besides, for secular Muslims (such as you), they wouldn't find anything to be desired in Islamic Sharia law. So, don't make it sound like you support or care about Islamic Sharia law.934 wrote:From the whole of the muslim populatin in the world how many country can be said their Islamic Sharia law is anything to be desired? Re: Muslims Against Sharia
Were the Hudud laws in Pakistan Sharica? How about the "strict" Wahaabi interpretation of Sharica as in Saudi Arabia? How about what is going on in the Sudan?
I would like someone to define what Sharica is before we get too carried away. As far as I have been able to tell this concept is about as well defined as is "muslim", i.e. much of it is cultural and there is NO general agreement.

This post is outrageous on several levels.eternauta wrote:This issue concerns Muslims. An atheist isn't part of we.Grant wrote:I would like someone to define what Sharica is before we get too carried away.
You want to impose an undefined system of laws on the entire world. You will not give non-Muslims any say in what these laws are, and you are saying non-Muslims should not be concerned with what these laws are?
I think we ALL need a definition here. So far you are just talking pie-in-the sky...

A muslim can be against Sharia law that is not implemented fairly like in Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan under Taliban.

Re: Muslims Against Sharia
There are many problems with Sharia law..as it has been interpretated by men(fuqaha)..and it is not error free..and which faqeeh should we follow? Malik, Shaficii hanafi? hanbali?
In any case guidance should be sought from the Qur'an, the authenticated sayings of the Prophet (p) which correspond with the Qur'an..and local customs/traditions ('urf) that dont conflict with the Qur'an for instance.
The problem is people mixed ignorance with religion and are passing it off as 'Sharia'

Enlightened,
The schools of jurisprudence(the mad-habs) follow the Quran and the Sunnah. All the leading scholars, the most famous jurists, the four, said if what they have as evidence contradicts the Quran or the Sunnah, it is not part of their Mad-Hab. Sometimes the scholars used a weak Hadith to come to a conclusion about something, you pick and choose out of the four based on the strongest evidence, that way, you are not blindly accepting anyone's take on a religious view but merely agreeing with the Scholar. Hope that clarifies something for you. There is never a problem with Sharia law.
