They already did it. There was a golden 6 months of peace and stability under Al-Shabaab, the only group that successfully managed to do it in more than 15 years.
Umm, it was not Al Shabaab. It was the Union of Islamic Courts. Al Shabaab was a small part of the courts.
Umm, it was Al-Shabaab that fought and kicked out the hated warlords, and it was them that were responsible for maintaining security, stability and order. Back then, they were the military wing of the ICU and weren't known as Al-Shabaab.

The better question is why do u have a problem with us, praising the men who are fighting the kufaar.

Ur supposed to support jihad with ur intentions (dua), with ur words, with ur might (fight urself), or with ur wealth, why do u have a problem if we do so with our words

Al-Shabaab has more than enough fighters and volunteers. Odayga_Laylo wrote Al-Shabaab has more than 20,000 armed commandos.

Funny thing is I'm a staunch supporter of these men but not as much as the two of you(eternauta). Just wondering why you guys aren't doing more to help the cause, action speaks louder than words. Are you handicap or injured? So I guess your bacheloers degree is of more importance than saving lives and fighting the jihaad. You, my friend, have no excuse.

You're probably going to ask why I'm not in Mogadishu as well. I just don't want to die. :D

Thing is, Al-Shabaab isn't lacking fighters and volunteers. If you hear Al-Shabaab asking for fighters and volunteers, let us know.

No sir, I'm not. Just thought with your kind of support that you would be in Mogadishu. I guess you are supporting them in other ways.

Al-Shabaab need all that they can get. They're not publicizing their need for more men and I think you know why.

Al-Shabaab leaders conduct interviews and make announcements that reach most Somalis in Western countries and other parts of the world. They can publicize their need for more men. Even in Somalia, there's no shortage of fighters and volunteers. With what's going there, from occupiers indiscriminately bombing civilians, raping the women, desecrating mosques to slaughtering wadaads, etc-- there's an excess of local volunteers trying to join the ranks of Al-Shabaab.

I do agree many of the new recruits are driven by revenge which just helps the Shabaab. What you have to understand is that no matter how many fighters this group is boasting; in a jihad there's no such thing as enough.

American Suufi,

There can never be peace with Ethiopian troops in Somalia. They will be driven out by brute force if necessary along with all those who work for the Colonial TFG.

As for the Al Shabab, they would be taken care of by the general public who have a strong distaste for their actions.

No Ethiopian/No TFG = No Shabaab.

Never heard of such a theory.
