InshAllaah i hope to read the whole post...
But yes you are allowed to wear Niqaab to Uni Alhamdulilah...Also i think personally if your going to live in the Uk or thw WEST for that matter then gain the ilm and do not waste the opportunity... of course within the boundaries of Islam. If not then why are you here???...go make Hijrah!. As for women working InshAllah i do not think it is a problem depending on the enviroment but i would say get that degree and persue it in the muslim lands...were free mixing is minimal. (Thats if you want to work). 'My oppininon'
The majority of ulema say there is nothing wrong with it, but of course check you intension.
And Allaah ta'la knows best.
P.s. Sister Sallafiya...I admire your input mashAllah and i understand were your coming from but i do not think giving out fatwas without knowing ones situation is permissable...might cause confusion.
Wsalaam
Exactly sister. People should not be posting fatwas not knowing what the implications are, or what situations people are in. We all come from a third world country and living in different countries around the West and some even in the East. Should we as sisters not take the opportunity to make something of ourselves insha'Allah by doing something that we love and helping the ummah at the same time?
Sister UponSalafiyya, how does one learning about Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics {Egineering} not help the ummah? Subhan'Allah, sisters would most likely get top-paying jobs with these and help our own Muslimeen in the process.
Sister we come into contact with other males in our daily lives, I'm sure many of us take transportation here but we have an intellect that Allah swt has blessed us with! Just because we go to Uni, in a free-mixing environment, doesn't mean we can't think for ourselves and stay away from it because we fear our Rabb!

This is my problem with the Salafi sect..toooooooooooo extreme.
Our Beloved Prophet pbuh said ' donot burden yourselves with the religion and beware of extreme views..it will make you perish...i.e it will cause you to have a SPIRITUAL DEATH
Actually, Khadija (radi Allahu anha) didn't directly interact with males, she was rich and had extreme hayaa so she had someone work under her to do it for her. When she (radi Allahu anha) proposed marriage to him (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) she did not go straight at him (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) and ask him (salAllahu alayhi wasalam), yet again, she had someone do it for her.
Aisha (radi Allahu anha) was extremely intelligent masha'Allah, when the sahabas (radi Allahu anhum) used to come to her for explanations of things and information about hadeeths, she would screen herself completely and hide behind a door.....and on top of that, she used to put her finger in her mouth because the mouth of a woman is the awrah.
As for your last line, sister, when you quote something from the Prophet (salAllaahu alayhi wasalam) you really need to show a reference {or daleel of some sort} so people can learn from it and go back to it insha'Allah.
Lastly, in a saheeh hadeeth, I'm sure you've all heard of it insha'Allah..

it states that whoever stays away from arguing, even if he is the right, then Allah guarantees them a house on the outskirts of Jannah.
So sisters, and brothers, insha'Allah, remember that none of us are scholars, da'ee, muhadiith, etc. so please refrain from such vain talk about matters of the deen. Only speak, or type, about things of benefit insha'Allah as none of this will help you get a spot in Jannah. We are sisters, what's happened to the sisterhood? Let's try to stop this bickering insha'Allah and love eachother for the sake of Allah. Can we do that?
