China has the ability to send upwards of 500.000 soldiers over the weekend to Somalia if it wants to. If they find Somali oil fields interesting enough, Range and whatnot are all going through the window. They definitely have the upper hand in these oil deals and naturally they only deal with the TFG since its the only internationally acceptable institution in the country.

I've been harping about this deal for 3 friggin months. Abdullahi Yusuf left Baidoa while it was under siege by the UIC to fly to Nairobi to ink the deal.

Unlike the Range Resources/African Oil deal, no details were ever released and it was never discussed in parliament.
