King there is no hate at all, wallahi it is more comedy for me...I had fun listening to what he was saying...what Jew can say that about Hitler's diatribe?

Voltage,
I'm neutral when I talk about disputes in Southern Somalia, even though Marexan is a clan related to my own.
Sxb from what I've been told to what I've read, it seems as if these men were stripped of their land. A blitzkrieg invasion was conducted in Gedo, and you were undoubtedly the aggressor. I've read several times on this forum of your clan stressing the need to invade Bay also, hinting that you've invaded a land of theirs once before. I highly doubt you can argue the fact that there were people living in Gedo long before your kinsmen had arrived, and that you just didn't settle on a deserted piece of land. Correct me if I'm wrong but Raxanweyn were the first inhabitants along with the Oromo but soon after your arrival they were forcefully evicted and they evacuated. This is what I've been told by sources I believe to be credible. Maybe I'm wrong, that's why you're here to tell us your side of the story.
I support the eviction of Gaalo Oromo, but the Somalis as well? Whatever the case maybe, I've always seen these people as victims of your land-grabbing manifesto.
Again, I'm not familiar with territorial disputes in Southern Somalia so most of my information are from people I trust.

Awe,
When We came to Gedo, Booraana, Oromo, Degodiye lived there and they were driven out completely. As for Raxanwein We lived side to side with them in peace. Besides these guys were farmers and We were pastorialists so it didn't even make sense for us to even fight because We wern't fighting for pasture or water recourses (Jubba River). This staus quo stayed until 1991 When they supported the USC against us and after the USC was kicked out, they were driven out of the entire region and Marexaans have been expanding every since towards Bay. Raxanweins lived with us in Gedo and theres a reason My Mom who's Reer Baardheere speaks fluent may may. Take Garre for example. They stayed neutral in Marexaan wars with other groups and today they live in Celwak in peace and are even the mayor there. Raxanweins could have been the same.

Murax,
Your claiming that the land-grabbing only occurred after they made the first move? So Raxanweyn weren't present in Gedo when the first Marexans arrived? Well this is something I've never heard of. I've always seen Gedo as a Raxanweyn stronghold, long before your kinsmen had began their journey to the south.

Re: 1992 RRA gubaabo about killing Sade in Gedo.
Zack, first of what timespan are you talking about? Are you making an accusation that Marehan tookover with Siyaad Barre help as most of you people believed or are you saying Mareexaan tookover Gedo over a hundred years ago as the colonists record?
First of all do you know what "Raxanweyn" is? Raxanweyn is a title that begin in the 30's to group together all those that were not pastoralist Somali. SO when you use the term "Raxanweyn" I have a problem with that term in its MODERN interpretation because it means a Geledi from Afgooye or a Tunni from Barawe can talk to me about Gedo.
Some pocket groups lived in Gedo along with the Oromo before the Mareexaan and these were Hadamo, Laysaan, and Gasaargude. Hadamo and Laysaan also themselves are undoubtedly former lost Somali nomads who had to band together to survive. THere are Habar Yoonis, Warsangeli Harti, etc in Hadamo and Laysaan.
So those groups lived there before Mareexaan. Fact is Somalis are pastoralists even the Hadamo and Laysaan are pastoralist. Pastorialism does not recognize the concept of land ownership. Sure nomadic groups try to assert sovereighnty over wells and boreholes but for the most part land ownership is a concept alien to nomadic pastoralism. In effect, Mareexaan did not "Steal" land. THey came there and settled for daaq which is what the Hadamo and Laysaan continued to do.
Before 1991, Mareexaan was never recorded fighting with the Hadamo or Laysaan and even in 1991, one section of Baardheere was composed of those groups and Cawlyahan.
THe dynamics of the region changed with the civil war because these groups ACTIVELY colloborated with Caydiid by ambushing Mareexaan civilians fleeing Xamar. The road from Baay to GEdo was 1000x more dangerous for Mareexaan than the road between Xamar to Bay. THese guys used to dump people in hot oil. Fuustooyin saliid ka buuxdo, they did that to one of my own close relatives.
Mareexaans were incensed but first the head of the snake had to be cut which was Caydiid. After the shattering defeat of the USC, Raxanweyn reaped what they sowed from the Mareexaan.
If you watch that video I posted, in the guy's gubaabo he continously talks about Siad Barre being in Gedo...in one stanza he says "for all the rank he gave that region, is he not sitting there today" meaning "waxuu mareexaan garaado siiyayba sow maanta isaguba Gedo ma fadhiyo....this means this gubaabo to attack Mareexaan IS BEFORE THE USC INVASION OF GEDO...IT IS BEFORE ANY MAREEXAAN AGGRESSION TOWARDS RAXANWEYN..IT IS BEFORE ANY OF THOSE THINGS WHICH PROOFS THEY STARTED THE WAR WITH MAREEXAAN.
Miskiin. He probably thought this was an opportunity with most of SOmalia against Mareexaan and wanted to take advantage of that populist agenda to destroy Mareexan.

Iam talkn about if what he said. He wants us to believe Marexaan converted other Somalis living in that area to Islam when we all know every single Somali clan has in one way or another a northern heritage and were Muslims way before we started heading south and evicting the oromo.sadeboi wrote:King-of-Awdal wrote:"When Marexaans came to Gedo, pagan non Somalis were living there."
