The problem is I don't think the major ports in Somalia want to see competition from other ports. Berbera, Kismaayo, Bossaso would not want other ports to spring up next to them to steal their business. Unfortunate. For example Riyaale will always try to block Seylac from being a port, and Cadde Musse will always try to block Las Qoray and so forth.

second Maydh and the approx 70 - 80 km coastline is Isaaq deegan not subclan of Isaaq like habar yonis cause all isaaq clans came from that place.

Western Sanaag and the the coastline in between Xiis and and Las -Qaroy its all Haber Younis degans. They are called Eastern Haber Younis or Haber Younis Bari and account for 50% of the Haber Younis family.

Maydh is one of the major towns of the Sanaag province of northwestern Somalia. It has an estimated population of 30,000 residents.


Sheikh Isahaq's Tomb, Maydh.The town was first populated by non-Somali tribes like the Oromo. Later, Somali ancestors came to the area. Perhaps the most important of these was Sheikh Isahaq (Sheekh Isaxaaq), a famous Somali sheikh who, according to tradition, moved to Somalia from Arabia in the 12th or 13th century AD. Sheikh Isahaq is considered the founding father of the large Isaaq clan that inhabits mainly the northwestern Somaliland region of Somalia, as well as the Somali Region of Ethiopia and Djibouti. Maydh now is the major town for the Habar Yoonis lineage of Isaaq, and the tomb of Sheikh Isahaq is also located here.

There is one elementary school and one middle school. Maydh does not have a secondary school. There are no health facilities in the town. The closest hospital is the Ceerigaabo General Hospital about 48 km (30 mi) to the southeast.

Maydh Island is about 30 km (19 mi) to the NNE in the Gulf of Aden
