I am not saying wear shorts, because that is unaccepted. But if people want to wear jeans, I say go for it. We as individuals should be able to live our lives in most comfort, and putting sanctions on people on what to wear and how to act is not right. It needs to come within to be true, not implemented based on forced aggression.
I'm not saying people were Godless, but the system of government was a secular one with some Marxist elements in it, pragmatic blends of different ideologies and philosophies. Somalia is (and always was) a Muslim country and society, I know the majority of people learned and memorized the whole Qur'an and prayed their prayers...
Somalis are already a conservative society and have been. But the society in Somalia has changed drastically.
If you don't have a family there and no one knows who you are, wallahi you will face a lot of danger. Familnimo ayaa la'isku xushmeeyaa oo meel la'iskiiga galaa Somalia. I don't know about the northern part of the country though, this applies only to the south and central regions.
