There is nothing wrong with sending mony back home..adiga sadaqo ayey ku noqnaysa qofka aad o diraysana caawimo ayey oo noqoneysa....ilaahy oo mahad naq inaad tahy qofka wax la waydiisanyo ood adigo wax bariyeen...ilaahyo bariyo ha na badin.
"They ask you (O Muhammad) what they should spend in charity. Say: 'Whatever you spend with a good heart, give it to parents, relatives, orphans, the helpless, and travellers in need. Whatever good you do, God is aware of it.'" - The Holy Quran, 2:215
A man once said to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): "I have plenty of property, a large family, a great deal of money, and I am a gracious host to my guests. Tell me how to conduct my life and how to spend (my money)." The Prophet replied: "Give (regular charity) out of your property, for truly it is a purifier, and be kind to your relatives and acknowledge the rights of the poor, neighbors and (those in need who seek your help)." - Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Volume 3, Number 3

Absolutely not. You're also forgetting that the Next Generation has all of their family in the West/Middle East. The family back home is actually distant relatives.

Re: The Next Somali Generation & Sending Money Back Home
AbdiWahab252 by the time the next generation is able to send money back home, i think somalia will be peace and wont be needing us. anyways whenever i get paid i give 1/2 of my money to my mom, and she sends however much she can back home. so i do send money home, indirectly though.
