This guy is Somlai and Hawiye and that. How do you explain his ant-Puntland rants and his apparent bias toward Galmudug. Shouldn't a white person be unbiased?

How is pointing out that Cadde Musa is a corrupt administrator being anti-Puntland? I'm pro-Puntland, you guys need to get rid of that guy he's dragging Puntland down.

Some Somalis need to stop tying up their clan identity with their (often corrupt) politicians. It lets them get away with very dodgy business and then pull the "clan card" when anyone calls them on it.

If there's one thing I've learned, it is that you cannot be "unbiased" in terms of Somalia unless you plain old don't talk about anything at all. Some deranged lunatic could run around town stealing underpants and you'd have the man's clan defending him and everyone else condemning him, but to say that beheading a deranged lunatic is wrong, or that the man shouldn't have been stealing underpants, and all of a sudden you've got a clan bias.

Not every book about Somalia is written from some white guy's point of view. Read "The Invention of Somalia" by Ali Jimale Ahmed

This ALWAYS fascinates me about Somali's. They just REFUSE to believe that an outsider can have an interest in them and their culture withOUT having an ulterior motive. For me, it began when some faraax, years ago when I lived in Dixon, asked me if I was Italian. When I said yes, he replied in Italian, which when I told him "No cap[isc", he laughed, and proceeded to give the full run down on Italy's presence in Somalia. Now, i'd always known Italy had had a presence in Ethiopia, WW II era, but I hadn't known about Somalia. It was when I Googled the terms "Italy Somalia", that it brought me here. Never left.
