The thing is not in adopting an Islamic political-system, but the capability of governing the country with it. Random ppl can't step in, and implement the Shari'a law as expected, and I doubt whether they'll succeed in putting it into operation without committing major blunders due 2 the lack of knowledge and the surrounding political environments.

The writers argument is based on a false inference; his point that "Islam law cannot be used to govern for man is corrupt" is applied to the present day society of Somalia, with corrupt, uneducated, power-hungry, blood-thirsty, shaytan led men as leaders, and a populace which for a decade and so has lived in a world in which even earthly laws were non-existent. Taking this into account how can you even raise such argument of Islamic law not fitting in a "modern world Somalia" whilst using our backward present day society as an example. Islamic law is the best way to govern humans, there is not question about that. However, the question that should be asked is; with such social-economical problems facing our society, how can we get to a point in which our society consists of socially and morally superior body of people who are economical stable---this would be the most befitting with Islamic law---? Like rebellion stated, I think this should our main concern, but getting rid of Allahs laws and only being governed with human laws because it suits our corrupt society will only make us like the Christians and Jews; they have done this before us and if you look at them today there religion is no religion at all.

Sufis will not except a "Safali" imposed Shari'a Law and vise versa. The sad reality is if either one of these groups trying to impose rules on the other the lines will be drawn in Somalia along religious lines and qabiil will be a thing of yesterday.
I think is best that we keep religion clear from places we call parliaments where evil men debate things not for anyone's interest but their own.
In my own opinion a true Shari'a Law will not be seen till Imam Mahdi arrives, so till that time comes stick with your local Imaam and try to be the best Muslim you can.
