The prophet p.b.u.h said,


"The example of the knowledge and the guidance with wich Allah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth. Some of which was fertile soil that obsorbed rain water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. (and) another potion of it was hard and held rain water and Allah benefited the people with it and they utilized it for drinking (making their animals drink from it) and to irriagate the land for cultivation. (and) a potion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then that land gave no benefits). The first is the example of person who comprehends Allah's Religion (islam) and gets benefit (from the knowledge) which Allah has revealed through me and learns and then teaches the others. The last example is that of a person who does not care for it and does not take Allah's Guidance revealed through me (he is like that barren land)."

The prophet p.b.u.h said,

on Controlling one's emotions.

"Verily i have been prohibited from emmiting two foolish and wicked sounds, one that is emmited when something favorable happens and the other that is expressed when calamity strikes".

When one contains his/her emotions upon both joyfull and the calamitious occasion, he/she is likely to achieve peace and tranquility, happiness and comfort and the taste of triumph over own self. Allah has described man as being exultant and boastfull., irritable, discontented when evil touches him, and niggardly when good touches him. The exceptions are those who remain constant in prayer. for they are in a middle path in times of both joy and sorrow. They are thankfull in times of ease and patient in times of hardship.

Another very important saying of the prophet,

" Love the one who is beloved to you in due moderation, for parhaps the day will come when you will abhor him. and hate the one whom u detest in due moderation, for parhaps the day will arrive when you will come to love him".
