Baxarow,

No, I am not here to foster a grassroots political direction for Hawiye, my concern is what exactly do they want for the homeland? Since every other clan or subclan put their sh!t together and managed to quell the few skirmshes that took place in their neighborhoods and are now living in peace, why not them too.

As AW said (and it's true) they occupy the most prime real estate in the land, but what did they do to that prime real estate?

AW,

Let's not dwell in the past politics. Can we agree on one thing first. Did you guys had a chance to make the best out of the years between 1994 to 2004 or not? You will answer "Yes" so, what did you guys do?

Hawiye??

All they wanted was iney daarood ka xoroobaan(according to some hawiye ppl I over heard) and the did..unexpectedly.
Ok the xornimo part is a bit of a strech..but you got the picture..they wanted to be considered equal partners in the political arena.

The problem is..they didnt have another plan ..for .if they succeed..and the evidence on the ground shows you that..for the last 18 yrs.

They need another charismatic leader to unite them again..like Ismacil Jimcale etc..not the crazy Aidid like leader.

Sir Luuggoyo,

U make another wrong critical assumption:

Why are u comparing Hawiye, an entire tribe with clans ? Not an accurate comparison.

Even among the Hawiye, there are peaceful areas such as Galmudug, Galgaduud, Hiiraan, Shabelle Dhexe etc.

Your other wrong assumption is:

Banadir = being the typical Hawiye degan ? Not true. For example Galmudug is more safer than Puntland.

Your fallacy is based on the situation in Xamar which is very complex and not only in the hands of the Hawiye but also other Somalis and the Foreigners.

Anti-qabyaalad or ashamed?

You decide!

Indeed a paradox, either disclose it and discuss tribal issues or stay away far away from both (disclore and discussion of clan).

     @ other Somalis and the Foreigners

AW,

For the ten years that I mentioned (94-04) Xamar was exclusively Hawiye, everybody else abandoned.

Sir Lugooyo;
You posted a very good question but the question should apply to all Somalis of all clans. Yes I agree with you 100% that Hawiye is to blame for many of current Somali turmoils and political disarrays. Hawiye had a golden opportunity to unite Somalia, bring peace and justice but they missed that opportunity and chose clan ideology and dogma. To give you an example; Caydiid, Tuur and Jees signed an agreement to get rid of Maxamed Siyaad Barre and bring the country together. That deal was broken by Caydiid-led Hawiye by attacking the unsuspecting SPM fighters because they were supposedly Daarood. I have an uncle who left Hargaisa with Jees and faught in the jungles of Jubaland for almost a year. These fighters were able to weaken the regime by liberating the entire South including Jubba, Gedo, Bay, Bakool, and Sh/Hoose. Before the USC forces reached Muqdisho, SPM fighters had managed to take over Balidoogle air fields. The liberators then became the enemy because of their clan. I have never seen any Hawiye intellectual talk about these grave mistakes and admit to their mistakes. Caydiid was a crazy man who destroyed Somalia and Hawiye. The golden opportunity was to bring all these parts together when Siyad Barre left and form an all inclusive goverment including SSDF.

I think the problem with Hawiye is having a lot of warlords. If you notice other clans, they all have one or two warlords and everybody supports them, but that's not the case with other clans

Just inside Abgaal, You have M.dheere, Muse Suudi, Xaraan ku naax, sheikh sharif, and same with HG(Qaybdiid, aweys, Indhocade). The critical aspect is uniting between Hawiye themselves.

After that, they can come to the negotiation tables. When you have 20 warlords with different agendas, you have a problem

I don't know what they want but I know for sure Hawiye do not want to form a government iyo kala danbeyn. They have created a business community that thrives on the lawlessness in the last 18 years.
