No, that isn't what we are debating. We are debating if the rumors claiming Somalia gained its independence thanks to Israel are facts. This was your response:

Actually I just got word there was not even a "vote" at all.

Somalis were granted the trusteeship by the Security Council and after the time ended and Italy said Somalis are ready for independence, the date was declared!

What these kids mean is "recognized". Who recognized Somalia.

Obviously everyone since there was not a single country that did not and even today does not recognize the existence of Somalia.

We aren't debating Israel & AIPAC financial and moral supports for the SYL delegation. We are debating Somalia's independence and Israel's vote that helped it.

AIPAC was founded in 1953, and by then..somalia was already guaranteed independency by the UN. 3 yrs earlier...so something doesnt sound right here AW.

It's far better than JSTOR. Tip: It might help to search Bevin-Sforza Plan. Since I've exhausted extensive searches trying to find anything about the Israel vote, I'm left to agree with Voltage that it's a totally 100% made-up rumor.
