Killing apostates encourages hypocrisy/munafiiqnimo, I believe only those apostates who insult, attack islam can be killed.

Vol, I have come across some knowledgable brothers here, example S-diin...

We need more diin discussions on this forum, maybe he should go find a Shiekh and lets know us here the answer.

Doing some reading and researching can give just as good an answer then that of an imam tho..

Voltage,

So every question you have ..you go to the masjid and ask haye??

Well, I dont know which masjid you go to..but I know many masjids where the shiekh(s) dont know much of the diin.
But...more importantly..this era of the internet...you can have more answers in cyper than you can get in any local masjid.

Besides, re-read what I said in the beginning of the thread..I asked if someone can show me a logic to what the religion says about this issue.
Because, IMO, certain things are bland and white in our religion..and many things arent..which begs the Q...why not..and what are the consensus on any such issue.

Now, if you dont know anything about it..you can say so..but you need not to discourage discussing such imp. matters..not that it will stop anyone anyways.

Shirib, ok which saxaba practised it?? besides..dont you know that what many sahaba have done are not necc. practical in this day and age??
ex?? there are no islamic ruler(s) that can lawfully apply for sharia laws and call for Jihad..or order cutting of the arms..say in America or even somalia..and many other examples. So??

Taqliid, aa?

IslamQA was founded by Sh. Uthaymeen & Sh. Munajjid, plus most of the stuff they post are either fatwas by Sh. Ibn Baaz, Albaani or actual Qur'an verses or hadiths. Nobody beats them when it comes to Fiqh.

Cawar,

The Prophet (saw) said: "Whoever changes his religion, kill him." (reported by al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, no. 3017).

The reason?

Because he has trangressed by disbelieving after Allah guided him to the right path. Also, because he may spread his evil trangressions & influence others.

Ok...but using your common sense...dont you think a munafiq can succeed better in spreading those evil thransgressions and influences?? and Munafiq is not ordered to be killed..why?? because he pronounces that he is muslim and can one day become a born again muslim??
Even the murtad can become a born again muslim..why not??

How many atheists(staunch supporters of such ideas) have we witnessed in this site?? one too many..dont you agree??

Last I heard..Galol started to fast and pray..what if someone killed him while he was here..denouncing Allah..and uttering those BS lines he used to??

Ok..if I cant deny the authenticity of the hadith and its circumtances(I think the prophet must have explained or gave a good reason to say so)..no one can deny in the world we live in today
And plz dont tell me that by acknowledging the situation we live in today..I automatically become someone who is denying the basic concepts of Islam and/or is appeasing anyone or even trying to be politically correct..cos I aint.

Cawar,

If a person repents, he isn't considered murtad because of the hadith that says "Repentence wipes out all sins that came before and the one who repents is like the one who never sinned at all."

In addition, the carrying out of these hadd punishments are to be done by a legitimate Shari'ah court, not by anyone. The court has to prove that the person is indeed a murtad and hasn't repented. Complicated issue.

K,

Complicated issue indeed. !!

Thats why I dont like when you hear "some" muslim surrogates (I dont know for whom)..in the news..and with very little knowledge and/or a very scarce talent in the art of convincing ppl..saying all these comments about murtads..

My thinking is dont say it..when you yourself dont know much about the issue..and more imp. when you dont have a concensus among muslim scholars on the issue.

Cawar,

You are aware that Nabi Muhammad(PBUH) did not write the Hadith right?

Why are people quoting the Hadith more than the Qur'an? I've noticed it a lot on this forum.
