JD,
Garre have more in common with Oromo than they do with Irir from what I remember, even their language is oromo.
As for Gardheere Samaale, they claim he was a son of Samaale who bore Garjante, Garjante later had Degoodiye along with Jiidle and some even say Gaal jecel was a brother of Degoodiye, not very sure though.

I have that lineage in my book actually, it's:
Aw Maxamed Garre/Gardhere had Quran and Tuff and a daughter named Makka, though my lineage also includes Maataay.
Maataay had Riidhe
Riidhe had Garjeen
Garjeen had Saransoor
Saransoor had Gaaljecel, Ciise, Degodia and Massare
According to Gungundabe, the Lineage is Gungundabe, Saransoor, so I suppose Riidhe or Garjeen married a Gungundabe or something. Either that or Maataay IS Gungundabe and it's rather my Garre lineage that traces through the female line (through Makka presumably).
Like I said it's all rather confusing.

Is Mogadishu peaceful enough to hold an election though? Isn't there still fighting?
Fighting and Violence is well to common in that part of the country. People continue to live their lives. Schools and hospitals are all open. The International airport and sea port are open as well. Elections will be held and no one can stop it that is the botton line.
This Government will continue to exits and will not and shall be undermine by anyone let alone a few animals in Mogadishu who continue to Prey innocent civilians.
