When it comes to reality, it is quite easy to defeat Al Shabaab and it has been done before by the way. The only reason Al Shabaab has any sort of power is because they enjoy some local support from some all somali clans and most people are indifferent to them or support them morally but will not take up guns for them. That is why Al Shabaab will never wage war on anyone and claim that they have defeated such and such clan because they cannot afford to say it without loosing most if not all supporters. Al Shabaab is in existence because of the warlords that destroyed Somalia and the invasion and occupation of Ethiopia, otherwise Somalis would not give a hoot about them.
