althought barack obama is a extraordinary politician and he is election as america's first blackish president marks a watershed moment in american history, his election will not change anything in the near future. the situation for african americans (including somalis) will not change, as race will still matter in america, barack obama is luck that he was nominated by the democrats in election year that they could not lose, to be honest the present republican administration is so bad, the democrats could have nominated a donkey for presedent and he still would have won. however, for me the significance of his election is that it gives hope to the next generation of african americans that they can achieve anything they put the mind to. still there no is reason to give the man Messianic status and this personality cult that is being develop is getting ridicules. as soon as i logged on to somalinet i was greeted with this meaningless slogan "barack hussien obama it could only happen in america" but what hell does that mean, you could only be a black president in america or if hussien is middle name the only place you could be president is amrica
