The picture you posted is the Down town of Mogadishu, and besides Al Aruba Hotel, one building there etc the city centre never changed since 1960!

In the video babygirl posted you can see that the picture of yours is somehow what is shown in the video. And Where is the 1 road myth Siyad Barre was talking about?

The city centre was built, but the civilian government built the other key infrastructure, like the Int.airport of Mogadishu, enlarged the port of Mogadishu, built the port of Kismanyo, Berbera, the Int.airport of Hargeisa, Kismanyo etc. And other key infrastructural projects.

I can't speak for the other projects, but the Sixties port in Kismayu for sure, and I beleive the Mog international airport that opened in 1967, were built by Bechtel under USAID.
