ONLF never remain at vilage's and town's.....they are maintained by the local elder's and so forth, but are not bothered by the habash.....the important thing is, ethiopia has no control over the ogaden outside of towns, an example ONLF in 2005 banned all exchange's of good's and service's with somaliland after they handed over some of their member's, another would be the fact ethiopia cant extract anything from the oil and gas field's, etc....

If ONLF can manage to take and hold territory, it might be enough of a show of weakness for the other ethnic groups in Ethiopia to grow a pair of testicles and topple Meles Zenawi.

yeah the oromo's are very weak and quite divided, if oromo's formed a comprehensive oromo rebel group then ethiopia would have been done for long ago but their not united like the amhara....the amhara are a very interesting group, they have not resorted to violence to regain their throne from the tigray but rather they beleive through political lobbying and the use of the electoral system they can take over again which has lead to most of their leader's to be in either exile or jailed in ethiopia.....why they dont fight? they dont want to destroy ethiopia, they want to continue controlling all the other ethnicities....the tigre have formed a rebel group against theire own leader in the form of the TPDM , we also have sidama rebel's but all are in infancy interms of forming any real threat to ethiopia....so the ONLF remains not only the somali ppl but the ethiopian ppl's hope in ethiopia.......ONLF's leadership is strong, there is a strict hierarchy, they have all the function's of a normal goverment, all they need is land.
