Puntland treats those from the south with much more respect than Somaliland

In Puntland you can find hawiyes, isaaq, dir, rahanweyn. It's very cosmopolitan. In the rural areas you'll mainly find locals.
In bacadweyn a few years back i heard they cut off a rahanweyn guys balls. These crazy mugdi mudug folk.

Thats horrible

Re: Rahanweyn Population
Rahanweyn, Jareers and Ethiopians are about 12,5% of the Puntland population.
They are the working force of Puntland, they all do jobs that native Puntlanders don't want to do (construction, port laborers, servants, maids etc)
But 85% of them all leave Puntland within 6 months to a year.
Bosaso might have shipped over 300.000 Southerners and Ethiopians abroad over the past 10-15 years.

Re: Rahanweyn Population
Ok, thanks for your bullshit.
I am not saying all Majerteens live like ballaz in Puntland, many are poor. But they would never head to Mogadishu for employment.
Everyday at least 1.000 Southerners arrive in Puntland for a better future, EVERYDAY...

Re: Rahanweyn Population
No they are not the same. Rahanweyn is a Somali qabiil. Jareer are technically not ethnic Somali's but of bantu origin.Netanel wrote:What is the difference between Rahanweyn and Jareer i thought they were the sameShirib wrote:So the consensus is true that there is a big Rahanweyn and Jareer population in Puntland

Re: Rahanweyn Population
Jareers are indistinguishable from the indigenous population in Puntland, thus making them non targets
