Good luck

You should know a daughter is very unlikely to ditch her mother no matter how difficult she may be, and the one who would is not trustworthy.

loool hyper I hope your wife turns out to be just as reserved as her mother because it is not always like mother like daughter
BV,

what would a woman have to do in order to fall under this category? What would her husband ask of her which would make her his slave? (realistically speaking)

 Hyper

I think you're in the wrong century if you're expecting that from your future wifey or mother in law for that matter.

Being someone's slave is having no free will in that you are forced to do whatever is asked of you. I should point out the mother said the man is supposed to be her "slave" as well. It has nothing to do with feminism it's the cutting of two people in half and sowing them back together as one that disturbs me.

I see nothing wrong with having a personality and opinions and making decisions together with that in mind. If you disagree then so be it, I would never ask a woman to be the one to compromise 100% of the time because that would be hypocritical. I have a tendancy to speak my mind, I might shut my mouth maybe once, twice or even three times to keep the peace but no way would I do that for my entire life as someones wife. That is what I think a slave would have to do.

But what would your own husband, whom you yourself choosen to marry ask of you which makes you his slave? Give me concrete examples. If your husband asks something of you does that undermine your personality, your opinions etc?

Maybe i've missed the slave part where does it say that?

maddy she referering this line i guess:
`O my daughter, you are about to leave the home in which you grew up, where you first learned to walk, to go to a place you do not know, to a companion with whom you are unfamiliar. By marrying you he has become a master over you, so be like a servant to him, and he will become like a servant to you
if my wife making me happy im proud servant of her. no one close to me to my wife in this world.
she is my secrate keeper and would know things no one even my mother would ever know.

Well that is a totally different matter then isn't it?

A marriage should be based on mutual respect, love and admiration. I don't think any woman who cannot express herself in the presence of her husband and is totally subservient to him is living at all.

I hate couples who nag constantly but that is just as bad as expecting one person to be subservient to the other in my opinion....I think there's a middle ground somewhere, like similar to the types of marriages my parents and some of my relatives have.

Someone who has chosen me would know my hard headedness and so if he wanted to have a wife in the morning he would never speak to me like this lakin an example would be ordering her to do or not do something i.e "I forbid you to go out" "I forbid you to wear that" "I demand..."

I mean fair enough you are her husband but dude you do not own her. Even if he asks her nicely, I still think it is her choice to choose not to go out with friends or to not wear a head scarf (especially if she wasn't wearing one when they got married)

You're right, you should end up with someone more like you. Otherwise you'll get emasculated really fast. Try a traditional arab girl
