Re: Identity
BV,
The question "Who are you?" is totally wrong, irrelevant and unncessary to ask in the first place. It all comes down to "What do you wanna know specifically about the person" then you ask. e.g. What is your name, nationality, religion etc etc
But "Who are you?" is not a question.

Re: Identity
BV,
That has been there for as long as humans were breathing.
We are all three-in-one (not the trinity)
1) How you want ppl to see u
2) How ppl actually see you
3) And who u really are

Re: Identity
I think my identity is mostly shaped by my experiences, beliefs and interests but I'm not committed to anything at all....maybe I am having a personality crisis.....shitblack velvet wrote:

Re: Identity
my own thoughts on day to day decisions is in line with the strong religion i have, principles i hold, and the way i was brought up. dont get me wrong, im not sheekhad and all, and im definetly not better than you guys, but once you realise that everything you do in life ties with your religion/principles/background then you dont have to think about it, when you making the day to day decisions, you just do it witout needing to "think" about it. mind you im not going to lie we all go through i dentity crisis at some point in our lives, but as long you have a firm believe that you are muslim, thats the most important part of your life, and no matter what, you always get be back on track because islam is the one that guides.black velvet wrote:Surrender I agree life is about having principles and that comes from religion, if you tie yourself to Allah and Islam then you are more grounded. The big decisions are obvious in showing personality lakin the day to day decisions we make about life, the things that we don't think are a big deal, those influence us on the whole a lot more than people assume. Do you always think of what religion expects of you in every decision you make or do you sometimes go by your own thoughts or wants?
my thought anyways.

here's blog i came across about identiy crisis and islam. read it if you can, might interest you.

Re: Identity

try mixing that with a little Ray LaMontagne and you'll lose your mind for good.
Re: Identity
I think what they're trying to say is you are what you love.Gatspy wrote: Eyes but now i'm all Lost
Anyway, that shit definitely doesn't help with an identity crisis. I think it's just supposed to provide a false sense of contentment in being confused which is not really bad per se.
Re: Identity
Eyes am I, I didn't know i was saying that but ok i guess
Screw,, LaMontagne is Trouble on his own, so mixing the two would only complicate things for sure.
