^^ actually, i am the one who posted this topic in the other forum too. I dont know where, but i while ago, i read somewhere someone posted this thread for Somali men and i myself changed into Somali women since they fit this circumstance sooo well. yeah, talk about plagiarizing.. lol


The only reason i posted this topic is that, i am tired of reading Somali women are like this and somali women are like that.. Well, just to let them know that skinnies should appreciate and stop insulting our women. because there are good women out there.

Good Somali Women are indeed all around us. We pass them on the streets, in the malls and the halls at work. Most we can't see because we don't know what a good Somali woman really looks like. She might not wear short skirts and tight jeans or ask to be driven a Lexus. She might not use too much Dianna or put too much make up on her face. It is simple, you can see her natural beauty---She is flashy enough and attractive and she never feels insecure for the God given beauty she is blessed with. As you mature, you realize it's better to find someone who's got your back, than someone who turns your head. A good Somali Woman doesn't agree wholeheartedly with everything you say and she might not act like a feminist (Coz, she knows her limit and the role she plays in our community) and never try to demoralize her man. She doesn't tell you what you don’t want to hear and do it exactly. She doesn't declare often how much she loves, and cares you. But she is sincere, committed, and breadwinner of the family when there is no one around to help her.

A good Somali woman is not going to meet every item on your checklist she is human with frailties and faults mixed in with all of her wonderful, strong attributes. She needs our love and respect. She is always optimistic and always tries to correct herself instead of blaming us. She forgives and shows endurance to her daily life. She never expects to get a huge birthday or a card for Valentine’s Day. (Will be better if she would have been given as a Bonus) She shows her love and trustworthiness in a way that is comfortable to her. Don’t judge her by western standards. No one is really living a fair tale. You will miss out on your own fairy tale by buying into the myth that our women are no good or romantic. It is just not true. Somali Women, we love you, & Salute you and Thank you for your patient and anything you have done for us.
