One occasion that i recall was when we were discussing the Hargeisa, Burco, Berbera aerial bombardments.
I specifically recall you not denouncing those measures that were taken, you practically said that rebel groups shouldnt have hidden in civilian populated areas.

You've provided 'excuse' like statements claiming he wasn't responsible as he suffered a car accident.

First of all I have my trolling moments and my serious moments. This is a public forum and I utilize it however the need calls for it. But it is true I do present some "facts" people like to ignore because it doesn't suit their political agenda but that does not mean I have ever in my life condoned anything that attacks the life, liberty, and integrity of a being let alone my own people whom I share the same language, culture, religion, and blood with.

The reality is if I say the SNM might have had a hand in what occurred, well it is true. They did have a hand because even in Rukia Omaar's book for Human Rights Watch (the one where she indicted Dahir Riyaale) even she points out the SNM sometimes "attacked" their own people's residential areas masquerading as government troops IN ORDER TO get the people to fully rise up against the government. You guys are so blind you conveniently like to ignore or were ingrained to ignore the double-sided highway. The SNM is guilty of being part of that atrocity that happened in the north by 1). Leading the government troops to pursue them within the civilian population and 2.) physically attacking their own "people" to get them fully supporting the "cause".

I mean come on, Marehan has been attacked and taken over twice in the civil war. The early period when we fled Mogadishu in 1991 when the USC temporarily pursued us and for a period of time held control over Gedo and the 2006 ICU invasion of Kismaayo. In BOTH cases, our fighting boys left the cities quietly and goaded the enemy from the periphery until we were able to draw them out into the open and liquidate them. Not that I am comparing civil war factions to the State military but the reality is rebellion is by nature a blood-thirsty venture. If you, who claim to represent the people you are fighting for, do not look out for the interest and well being of your people by saving them from the crossfire why would you expect the other group to leave you alone? What state military has a conscious concern for casualty when they are in war?

Taas waa mid.

I maintain the SNM was a unlawful rebel group that should have been crushed but I do not and have never ever condoned any willful persecution or attack on the life, liberty, and integrity on anyone or any people except the Ethiopians. Haygu xadgudbin.

I couldn't argue too much about that hence there's a lack of evidence regarding your accusations (Based on 1 source) of the actions of SNM.
It could very well be true that they have commited some of those acts to gain support, it would make logic sense to implement those rebel tactics that have been known to be used in many regions across the world.

Let's take a quick look at the situation of Hargeisa and Burco for example.
Hargeisa was partially in the hands off SNM and partially in the hands of the SNA, although the SNM was in control of certain parts of the city, the whole city was bombarded......not just the 'known' parts of the town where the SNA wasn't in control. If they were hiding in heavily populated areas and the SNA was still in control over large parts of the city....they should be able to get the upperhand without resorting to animal-like behaviour.

Burco however was totally out of the hands of the SNA at the time of Bombardment
I would understand why that would have been levelled to the ground, this is only a small part as to why people of the Isaaq clan feel the way they do.

They do not see them as rebels and they do not see that the government at that time considered them equal.

The rebellion started in the nomadic lands as was at a latter stage taken into the cities due to the suffering of the nomads.
They were killed and raped indiscriminatly. I assume they then thought that the only way to stop this was to take the fight to the army barracks in the north and take control their.

I'm not defending the actions of the SNM, they have commited attrocities in certain places.

I just havent seen you owning up to the mistakes of Siyaad Barre in the past directly.
