Re: this ethiopian dude respects and likes somalis & somalia
I am from Ethiopia and know the political views each ethiopian ethnicity hold about Somalia, no highland ethiopian (Amhara/Tigray) would say anything positive about somalis in general and somalia as a republic. Their hatered towards us is unimaginable and remained so for the last 800 years.American-Suufi wrote: how do you know?

Re: this ethiopian dude respects and likes somalis & somalia
Ethiopians knew Somalis as the hardest nuts to break. As some of the most resilient human beings any one knows in Africa. Men and women of bravery and deep nationalism. We feared Ziad Bari, the man many Ethiopian generals believe as the last true Somali. Every single Ethiopian child of the last 30 years or so grew up hearing this
Mighty man who can move mountains of people in one go and crush mighty Ethiopia in a matter of two weeks to the ground. Those brilliant strategic planners as Omer Arteh Kalib that put Ethiopian diplomats in New York at the UN down in shame and rendered them childish swindlers. Brave Somali generals as we Ethiopians learned their names by heart. General Dawood and General Ahmad Terza.

Re: this ethiopian dude respects and likes somalis & somalia
This Amxaar has some valid points but he is missing the entire point of the root of the whole eastern Africa’s problem; Ogadenia. He is so Amxaar that he didn’t even mention Ogadenia in his article. He wrote about how hard the Somalis fought yet he failed to mention the reasons for the bravery fights.
As we speak I have another window of Word open for me writing a long response about his article. My response to his article will center eight words; Ogadenia
As for the Ilka-Yar booliqaran-raised kids, look for another hero somewhere else because Siyad Barre was neither hero nor an effective leader. What these Booli-Qaran raised kids are forgetting is that fact that the Somali national army was strong and existed prior to Siyad Barre’s coup d'état. The credit of the 1977 war goes to every single Somali, not Siyad Barre. It goes to the single mother at the Xamar-Jadiid market selling few tomatoes to make a living because she indeed paid taxes that funded the war. My uncle always tells me the gallantry of this young Dhabayac colonel who led that infamous Somali version of D-Day at Godey Bridge. In the middle of the night while the heavily fortified Amxaaro dag deep tranches on the sides of the river banks, the brave Somalis ran through the bridge under hail of gun fire just to get to the other side of the river for strategic reasons. Of the 200 and so brave young Somalis who dared this mission, only over 60 of them made to the other side. That colonel never made it. But his daring action led to the invasion of Godey; one of the most military fortified Ogadenia cities at that time, and I think is still. People like the late General Caydiid, Ciro, Cumar Carte and tons of others were all heroes in the 1977 war. In short, I hate when few ill-informed kids try to take the credit away from an entire nation.
Back in late 1980s, my uncle took me the Wasaaradii Gaashaandhiga to see his office over there. One of the sights that I will never forget that day was this meeting of Somali officers; mostly senior colonels and generals who were all dressed in military uniforms sitting in this large meeting hall. Even though I was very little to grasp that moment, but for somehow the glimpse of that meeting stuck in my mind! Those military officers were made up of all Somali clans! And they were the ones that planned and executed the birriliant 1977 war.

Re: this ethiopian dude respects and likes somalis & somalia
To be fairly honest I have never come across an Ethiopian in real life that hates Somalia and Somalis. I think Ethiopians are much more genuine and respectful than Somalis. Even when I look at their forums, they seem to be very genuine in their feelings toward the problems in Somalia.
Somalis are more disrespectful and hate Somalia and Somalis more than the Ethiopians.

Voltage,
Excellent points!!
I have said this many times that, for some reason, the Ethios people are more civilized than Somalis. They are well-mannered people. I give credit where it is due! Having said that, we can never get along with them as long as their filthy and forcefully conscripted forces occupy our land; Ogadenia.
When I see them how humble and weak the Ethios look, I just wonder how these kinds of people managed to colonize my people.

Guhad,'
For every Ogaadeen ONLF soldier, there are 5 Ogaadeen EPRDF soldiers. One that is a translator, a guide, a pr person, etc.

Voltage,
That is very true! I indeed have a close relative of mine who is a big time Daba-Qoodhi in Jig-Jiga. One time the BBC Somali asked the ONLF leader Admiral Maxamed Cumar that same question. And being smart and always quick thinker the Admiral responded "Adeer kuwaas aad sheegaysid iyaga xornimadooda baan u dagaalamaynaa". Meaning that the ONLF is fighting for the freedom of every Ogadenia citizen including that of the Dabaqoodhi!!!!
