Even if somalian government recognized somaliland, they would need the approval of 1. African Union...2. United Nations...and that is just bare minimum, not to mention Ethiopia. And these organizations would never allow Somali government to recognize somaliland because it would create disaster in their countries with every tribe and group declaring independence.

the south has more tools to make it self sufficient, while the North doesn't... no secret there

but its pretty much hopeless at this juncture....
