Ive been to djibouti..its so sad the government does nothing for the people..the slums are just...foreign investment but nothing to show for it. The lights are only on for 5 hours in the city. Djibouti see's somaliland a threat to it..lol A. Somaliland is bigger. B.greener..Things can actally grow from the somaliland side of the border. Much more potential lie in somaliland oil minerals. Bigger population and it would replace it as one of the most imporant places in the horn when it comes to somali isseus the world would turn to somaliland...and there is berbera which is strategically more imporant to the world then djibouti port..more and more people now look at berbera and making it its choice.

They are help less and even bitter that ethiopia dumped them to work with somaliland and use berbera after all that was its only source of income. 32 years as anindependent recognized state. What has the government done?..other then live on world aid import food because nothing can grow lol...Inviting hotel companies to build 5 star hotels doesnt count..the djibouti Citizen's deserve better..Hargisea in the 6 years of development has accomplished more with the help of the diaspora and not some western doner..Djibouti's worse nightmare = a recognizedsomaliland..its already struggling to compete with an unrecognized.

Xamari huno nobody is saying Djbouti is paradise but you should give credit where is due...like all african countries DJ faces many challenges..despite having half a million population and infertile lands they are doing well, Economically, militarily and politically...according to many sources Djbouti is significantly important "trading hub in eastern Africa because of its port and strategic position on Red Sea coast and Gulf of Aden"... Berbera port is quite small and lacks the required capacity to handle large cargos..heck Bosaso port is of greater importance than that of Berbera..to large extent Hargeisa does rely on western donors, there has been variety of assistance provided by specialized agencies of the United Nations... The World Food Program periodically coordinates the delivery of food aid to many somali regions including hargeisa.. UNICEF and the World Health Organization have funded a number of projects in Somaliland...European Union has been the most helpful over the past decade. ..the European Commission approved a 4.2 million Euro project to rehabilitate the core road network in Somaliland..the European Union earlier rebuilt many of Somaliland’s bridges and rehabilitated some of the Berbera port facilities..with that said Hargeisa is booming and is moving forward and for that I applaud

you are truly somaliland hater - no matter what the tiny hole so called Djbouti has no future importance or any important resources
but alhamudillah somaliland is blessed with resources and we will put it with good use inshallah - Berbera is the most important Dock at this stage then the so called Xamar Dock or the Tiny Bosaso Dock
for you to compare berbera port and a tiny bosaso dock is an insult to Duriyada

You full of lies walaahi. Who told you that lights in Djibouti are on for 5 hours? I dont even think you have ever been there probably stopped at the airport on your way to hargiesa as almost all do. First if all the Ethiopians didnt leave because they liked you but because they werent willing to pay what we were charging and since you bafoons handed Bebera port for free they took it. I would too if i was offered a control of a port with no cost. They get their shipments and the trucks drive to the border guarded by none other than ethiopians and the drivers are ethiopian. So basically your being pimped. We maybe arid but we arent resourceless. We have enough thermal energy to power all of Africa let alone us only. Your port can never compete with ours because even people from Somaliland dont use it as much. Heck almost all Burco goats are shipped through Bosasso and give where credit is dude. You had 20 years and a build port handed to you and they have turned a midget town into a cosmpolitian city. I have been to Hargiesa and the place isnt what people make out to be. There is no sense of city planning and if they dont wake up and do something, it will turn into a slum. I dont even get how people can compare a nation to a place whose budget is what 18 million dollars, Our port alone generates an excess of 300 million a year.

Face the facts..Djibouti's success if you wanna call it that.. only happened because of somaliland/Somalia's failure. Somaliland has a government now and is willing to deal with the international community with or without recognition. I remember couple years back abo was telling me that Djibouti closed down the somaliland embassy and sent home diplomats because a deal struck for berbera. Regardless if Ethiopia isn't paying us as much..djibouti lost its main source of income alie?
