yh i know where u coming from bv, but we have to have everyone on board in order to acheive our dreams and hopes. it takes two to tango right! well it takes both somali men and women to achieve peaceful somalia. it wont help if one heading east and the other west! if our men and most women have mentalitly that we (women in general) cant lead or do anything for our country, than that its self needs to be sorted out before we do anything else-we need to change somalis' mentality, show them that women are equally to somalia just as our men. and the only way to do that is if we=somali women/girls in the west educated ourselves, achieve the top education we can get, and go back to our country, rebuild our country in every way possible, from education, health, environment, security, economy, show them that we have the right to be in that office! than maybe than they will take us serious and join us, waa kuwaan lahabaarin, dadka qaarkood waxaad umalaynaysaa inay habaarka caloosha kalasoodheceen. somalida are very good example this!

I think Somali women should be more involved in our country's current affairs. We've all been conditioned to accept things as they are and let the men sort it out. Well unfortunately a lot of our men have proven incapable of putting their pride aside and sorting out their issues like men and not like little boys with guns.

We've got the inner strength these men lack. Wax aan barano wadankeena nimankaan aan kaceshano :som:
You might have the iner-strenght but dont forget your sexuality overrides everything else. In other words you are a women and therefore incomplete.

Kukri Incomplete? What is this a love song? Men and Women compliment each other, that is not to say one cannot function without the other.

My thoughts exactly.

Kambuli - Yes talk to them and help them understand what pain is and how stupid it is to keep us all in this state. Next time round Inshallah when we have our own sons we can raise them to be strong intelligent men. However for those children to have any hope of a future Somalia it's up to us to do something about wadankeena hooyo now. Ilaheey will help us Inshallah

and Madd we need scientists too

its not gonna work women are too emotional, making these necessary changes for our country needs men with balls of steel.. like snoop

horta i dont understand why people blame this on Qabiil, to be honest what idiot sincerely believe he is superior to a person from another Qabiil? NO im afraid Qabiil is not the real issue, it is just a cover, and i know Somalis are smarter than Qabiil.. we just need to wake up from this over simplification of the real issue.

we have reached a time, the time that Somalia either turns for the better or for the worse.. the people who were born around the time when the war broke out have now grown up to the age 18-20 years old, and nothing is stooping them from helping their homeland :som:

To hell with Somalis and their never ending issues....most of the Somali women involved in politics are just as bad as the men if not worse.

well said kam.

Somali women are just as much part of the political angst...some are even more qabilist then men.

calling for a matriarchal Venus state isn't gonna solve the problems we currently have.

Lets get something straight - I never suggested a Matriarchal Venus State, Somalia needs both it's men and women. However Somali women need to take their heads out of the sand and realise that it's not all ok. There is no miracle that will come and heal our land, there are no knights, no promised freedom from bloodshed. If you want something you need to work for it. The women have suffered enough and I think they have what it takes. Especially our generation. Imagine being a diplomat for your adopted country when your own doesn't even have roads? What the hell.

Eyes - You are one of the most passionate Somali women I know so don't even try it. :som:  :rose:
