Its def. a cultural argument, not a religious one, though. If everyone in their "village" does this, (his mom, sister and all their neighbors), and if all the men have been content with the practice for all of these years, and they'd still marry women on the basis of knowing that they'd never see their faces....AND he still broke this "very important rule to them" consciously; She's got right in asking for that divorce. He technically did cheat her out of something her promised her. I cant see how it would be much more different than say someone who promised to be faithful, and then wasnt.
