I did that once.....in my hometown. It was an older lady, she had her grocery bags and waiting for the bus...
So I asked her if she needed a ride....she kinda hesitated, so I started talkn to her in somali then she was like....'yea, take me to this house first tho, cause I wanna pick up something...my house is two blocks from there"
and i was like.... :| umm...trying to be a good person here...not a cabby.

Did you hear about this story of a Somali girl - she was new to the country and managed to get herself lost, she kept roaming about trying to find her way until it got dark. Finally she came across a Somali man who she approached to ask for help. Now apparently the brother offered to help her out and proceeded to take her to some little corner were he raped her. So no I would not take any strange man in my car if it was raining fire. Now if it was an old woman or a young one with a baby then I just might.

Yes if it is an elderly person or a woman and I say a silent prayer that they are not going to the other side of town i.e far away. I just wish they know the address too, instead of providing landmarks, Sarta dheer dhinaceed, jid xigga dukaanka Shiinaha etc. etc.

They're strangers. I don't know them, so I'll keep things moving. Its not my problem.

lool Nalia, why would you invite into your car someone who you might think would put you in a position to have to use pepper spray? If a guy jumps you in your own car no self defence is likely to help, unless of course you're wonder woman. You'll either loose your car when you make a run for it or you loose a lot more if you're not strong enough. Why the drama, leave him there

I did once and I'm not likely to do it again. I was coming out of a shoppers drug mart and these two young(ish) somali women accosted me, telling me that they're kind of lost...they knew where they were going but not how to get there. Since it was on my way , I volunteered to give 'em a lift. As we're driving along, one asks if I could allow them to make a quick stop at the convenience store...I thought that was a bit strange but being the nice guy that I am, I obliged them. She went in and came out a minute or two later, with a pack of smokes...Yaab iyo amakaag

On top of that, kaalaxnimadooda, they had the nerve to ask me if it was alright to smoke in the car...I was beyong pissed at this point...so I pointed to the car seat in the back and politely but firmly told them that it was out of the question!

waxay igu noqdeen abeeso far loo tagay oo fanaxa u booday or as the song went "you give an inch, they take a yard, you give a yard, they take a mile"...

Pepper spray actually works woman. And what do you mean no self defence is likely to help...is someone is in your car....you have the advantage I would think. You know ur car better than he does..you can knock the breath out of him easily.
